I'm with you there. My XP box I bought in '05 had Systemworks pre-installed, and of course I didn't pay the extortion money when my "subscription" ran out so now I've got Norton popping up every few weeks running like its always been. Never mind that I uninstalled the whole program in 2006. And again in 2007, 3 times. And this year, twice. I will never use another Symantec product again. Sadly, I used to use McAffe, but on my dad's laptop, he's running the latest and greatest VirusScan and its just as bloaty as Norton now. I had to disable half the services just to get his computer to run programs AND AV at the same time.

I totally agree. While GTA IV is fun for sure, and for the most part very well polished, I just don't get the "go anywhere, do anything" feeling I got from San Andreas. For somebody who likes the mission structure and getting completion, its probably a lot more fun, however I'm just tired of Roman or Dwayne calling me when I'm just out screwing around. I loved the Sandbox of GTA-SA, and it feels like that was toned down a bit in favor of a more... "linear" type of game.

How do you critically analyze ID or creationism? With evolution, you can study the fossil record, or watch micro-evolution happen. With ID, you can only say that $animal has $attribute because it was designed that way. Creationism is worse with a "because God wanted it that way" approach. The scientific community cannot observe, test, analyze, and make conclusions about ID or Creationism. They are based on faith. I have faith. I think faith is a wonderful thing to have. I do not think faith and science are the same. If you can study ID or creationism with the scientific method, then I welcome it in our schools. They cannot cannot then I say they are theology, not science, and should not be taught as such.

Beta was a superior product, so much so that before Digital Video, it was STILL the standard for TV broadcasters. However VHS got out to an early lead in market share with the "casual adopters" and the rest is history.

Same goes for USB 2.0. Firewire is better at what it does than USB, but USB does more and is more heavily saturated in the market. I assume that We'll see Firewire in MBPs for a few years to come, probably until USB 3 or a new High Speed Bus comes along that makes FW/USB 2.0 obsolete.

My insurance has 2 health care options:

2: More expensive PPO. Once again, my coverage is fully covered by my benefits allotment, but the wife would cost over $500. Plus as a PPO it kind of sucks because the Hospital closest to my work just de-listed them as an accepted provider.

Now, I doubt the gov't will fix this at all, but that doesn't change the fact that the current system is crap as well. I think Chris Rock said it best when he said that we should pay Doctors like we pay Preachers, Pass the hat around and whatever you get, you keep. After all they're both doing god's work, right?
