The president will tend to be loved or hated by most, without much middle room, in our culture. It's party of the ability to have a say in the choice - you become "attached". Imagine how much more people would support for their favorite football team (or condemn the opponents) if they could affect the outcome of the game?
There aren't just people who *love* Obama, there are plenty who despise him. Likewise there are many who loved, and many who despised Bush, Clinton, Elder Bush, Reagan, etc.
Also, as far as individuals go, he is the one who holds the most power in the country, and thus is the easiest to talk about. People like things that are simple - it's a lot easier to talk about, blame, criticize, support and extol one person (such as the president), than a group of non-uniform people (such as congress)
Or just don't use CCs outside of online purchases. The CCs have some pretty not-nice "taxes" and tactics to enforce them on the people who accept payment from them already. They really aren't nice companies.
That's actually just the way the companies do it, not Windows, as Windows only predetermines where apps bundled with windows should go. I usually rearrange my start menu from
program -> company -> app to
program -> category -> app
Anyway, it doesn't change the issue, that under any given category in a the system KDE/Gnome menu, there usually ends up being a bunch of clustered 'K' apps and 'G' apps, particularly the games section
And a lot of graphic/physical artist. I've seen many who do graphic arts, drawing and painting, who seems to think that if you are in any computer programming or science field, you have no creativity.
One concept may moving to a credit card type funding model.
If you charge the people who have less influence, or are more of a captive audience, in the deal, and then lower the prices or add perks to those who are not as much of a captive audience, then you get a lot more money through a large customer base. The people of the captive audience can't afford to buck the system, and the people who can don't know enough or care enough to.
The source would have to be able to have funding. About the only way I could think of that, is some combination of heavy handed product placement in exchange for cash from the manufacturer/merchant, and users paying to see the content. The former wouldn't produce enough, and the latter, is available in many cases - people still take the free-with-commercials option often enough.
I like the suggestion someone else made (or at least implied) - the ability to switch to a different commercial on a web video if one was too annoying, would be nice.
Of course other countries do that, they just do a better job at keeping it secret. Just because you don't know of a case where that happens, doesn't mean there isn't one.
Circular chromosomes are fine for relatively small genomes, but they are horribly slow for larger genomes. It's a lot harder to dupe them in parallel as you can with a linear chromosome.
Telomerase allows a cancer line to become "immortal" (or maybe a term I've seen before, "emmortal" might be better - won't age, but can die). Anyway, I believe the vast majority of cancer lines are not immortal. I wonder what the increase of cancer would be with telomerase added? I'd have to guess fairly small. More likely it's not produced simply because the energy expenditure doesn't provide a worthwhile gain, we only attain between 1/12 and 1/8th the age where it would become useful.
Having helped people using screen readers - a linear form of output, like speech, does NOT do an adequate job of relaying a 3-dimensional output (x,y,color). A braille display, and one with textures for various gui elements... seems nice to me.
I'm sorry, but I can't think of ANYONE, including some truly good and decent people, who don't have some whacked-out-crazy associates. That's hardly something to criticize someone for.
If it makes you feel any better, it's even less playable with a controller.

just ignore him and pay attention to Amy Pond, and everything will be ok
I thought he used the sonic screwdriver because he didn't want to have to remember a new tool or technojargon every time some problem needed solved.
Oh wait, that was the actor, not the doctor.
Careful, you could end up with Donna Noble.
Actually, of the new companions only Amy Pond and, maybe, Martha Jones were even remotely attractive IMO.
And Amy Pond more than makes up for the rest.

we can add the iProducts to this trend too.
Actually, iThink i'Ve heard complaints about all three.
/dev/null ?

It might have worked then, but would it still be viable today? That's a reference well over half a century old.
Well, at 2 meters long, I'm sure plenty of people will try that one.
Hope they can hold their breath.
Not necesesarily.

That'd be too quick. maybe every few minutes, add some starving weasels.
Wow... that stereotype makes about as much sense as a stereotype saying black people have teeth.
Yep, it's true, but it doesn't really distinguish them from any other ethnicity.
Way to be a bigoted dumbass my friend.
And given the number of associates he has in total, he's hardly there.
Good link, guess my prof was wrong. Thanks.
ding. Hammer, meet nail head.

In Soviet Russia, you use Apple Products!

Sorry, but even most moderates don't like Bush, quite a few conservatives too.
It's not just the loony left. There's plenty of good complaints about him, and it'll be interesting to see which ones show up, and how he responds.
