I don't know that Woz would care about a Mac, his baby was the Apple and Apple II. The Mac was a Jobs thing and he doesn't strike me as a collector for nostalgia sake. I'd be willing to bet that he still likes to forget his past, if for nothing other than the fact that he has always liked to look to the future.
This doesn't actually mean a game instance or a dungeon instance. This means the players join a group from a network perspective.
The end result is that I join an area and after joining I share to all other clients that join the same area. Guess what, that's not how the mmo's do it because it introduces cheating and potential for me to disrupt another person's gameplay.
I'm pretty sure that Torrents would have been a better goal for this a-hole.
I've homebrewed WinMO phones too. The major difference is due to the fact that it's an M$ product it's APIs aren't open, they're buggy and overall the devices run slower and are less customizable.
The end result is a phone that I spent a lot of time hacking whereas my iPhone basically did all that my xv6700 did. It only took 3 days to get to that point where I spent 6 months to get the xv6700 to a point where it was even usable, nevermind another year and a half hacking around.
Take one of your level 80's, do a bunch of easy heroic content (5 mans and 10mans). Take the badges and convert them into a chest piece and a shoulder piece for a combined 20% experience gain.
Someone equated that 10% of your character's career in XP means you effectively paid for the first 45 levels of experience once that character hits 80.
AND that Heirloom gear can be carted over to your next toon for levelling. Getting a cloth shoulder, chest and a staff for spellpower effectively means you can level 3 classes with ease, 4 if you want to play a caster druid.
And in the meantime the people that don't know or don't understand are being ripped off for power costs while they're making money off your CPU utilization.
Your argument is as fail as this being slipped into Digsby.
Agreed, Digsby on the other hand is utilizing what should be idle horsepower. While this may seem innocuous since it is not being used by other stuff, it does not come without cost.
I have a computer tuned to speedstep down and use less power when idled. That means I spend less money per month to run that system. Power costs money, so in effect, Digsby is costing you money by doing this. Granted this may only be a fraction of a cent, multiplied by a few people monthly...well I'm sure you all saw the movie.
I used to want to work at one of those cool dot-coms since I started working at the boring drone of a state job I have now.
Then I realized what you stated, those dot-coms with the young workers are pushing through by paying their real workers as little as possible because of their lack in experience and because they stand a better chance of working them around the clock.
No thanks, I'll take my consistent state job, the ageism I encounter from the more experienced and older peers that are teaching me things, and the guaranteed 35-40 hour work week provided by my union contract. The extra hours I would be working elsewhere I can devote to myself and personal projects that may or may not be lucrative, but at least it's my time.
I fail to understand the difference. Directory or Search Engine, don't they both crawl the web for data, index it and allow users to start a search of the stored content?
I don't recall Yahoo being like a telephone directory where things were grouped. I recall entering the page and typing a search query. More often than not I would get back the garbage pages that had the hidden tagging with all of those hot keywords everyone was searching on just to bump a page rank.
Google was of the first engines to see past that crap.
Actually the EULA says to go back to the manufacturer for a refund on the software if you do not agree. In other words you should talk to Asus, if they don't agree, take it to small claims.
Yep, this is where the world has been moving, but the wireless industry has been stifling so they can milk the outdated technologies. They're milking the cellular technology (including sms) despite the better alternatives for all it's worth because they get federal breaks to maintain that infrastructure and can continue charging exorbitant prices to keep users on both cell and data networks.
If you aren't smart enough to do it yourself, you pay for it. Plain and simple. I don't bitch when I have to pay to get my car scanned when the check engine light comes on. It doesn't take much work there either, plug a device in, (maybe) turn the car on and read the error code from the device. The newer readout's will even pinpoint the problem now, not just tell some random diagnostic code that has to be looked up. Some of those places charge up to $100 just for the scan, particularly if you opt to not have any work done. Seems to me that's comparable to paying $50 if you're afraid of opening your case and installing memory on your system.
Should Mario just start at the stairs at the end of the level? Should Grand Theft Auto eliminate the driving aspect and take you to the site of the job?
No. It it is a level of immersion and I get sick and tired of people complaining they can't get from point a to point b instantly.

Because the ESRB believe it is a real ratings board and in order to prevent its irrelevance occasionally needs to stick its nose in where it doesn't belong.
If I'm willing to accept that it's a publicity stunt by a community college what makes you think I would be willing to accept that he successfully passed a calculus without some kind of prodding by the staff.
Honestly, this is a PR stunt and it made it to Slashdot. And most likely will it will make it to CNN. Then next year they'll be charging 20-40% more per new student in tuition coupled with higher application submissions.
Seriously, I was impressed until I saw the community college part. This is most likely just a publicity stunt to bring more attention to their crappy little campus.
If he was really all that impressive, a real university would have sponsored him, particularly since they would probably turn him over to research work until an age appropriate for the working community and in the process developing a sizable portfolio of research and (most likely) publications.
Yes. They will fail outside of the US. They want the safety and protections afforded by operating in the US, but they don't want to pay for it is what Balmer is saying.
Good riddance. I hope MS dies in a fire of failure.

No silly, Photo Image Manipulation Program... or:
P.I.M.P.
They should also make a "lite edition" to make it much easier for the simple edits people would like to do without all the crazy effects.
