Linux is whatever it is. Just because there is not a prime time desktop environment for the average person sitting at a keyboard does not mean it is not supposed to be or never will be.
They are only allowed to check out used games over night now. Though yes, it was corporate policy to allow employees to check out display copies of the new gamea overnight.
In addition to that, they NEED to put open empty boxes on the shelves because if they didn't, games would sprout legs and walk. When I worked there and PC games were still put on the floor with games in boxes, theft shrinkage on PC games was staggeringly high (somewhere in the ballpark of 20%).
You people are getting all uppity, but I hate to tell you that to a degree all stores are like this. Do you think that most stores don't flex their return policies for employees?
Oh and in this case, the policy existed so the employees can actually make recommendations to customers. Considering how little they get paid, it's not like they can play every game released by buying them.
A.) this is a popular method of gaining extra lives. To me it is a clever use of game mechanics (ie the bounce Mario makes after jumping on something and the recoil of the turtle shell).
B.) You can't "leave" it for a few hours. There is a level timer that eventually kills you.
$5 for a game over a decade old....meh. Honestly, I would have been happier (and will wait) for this to be $1.99 or $2.99. Right now I can play it on my Gameboy SP and I'm happy enough with that.
Something tells me every time he gets a new piece of hardware in front of him though he attempts to port Wolf or Doom to it just to see if he can. In this case he realized that he could make a handful of free cash. More power to him, I support the app and it's price (even if I am unwilling to pay for it at the moment).
You're right, ignore this guy. He makes it pretty clear he's only interested in money and like management which has KILLED OUR ECONOMY GLOBALLY, can't see anything but the quick buck option.
They want me to pay $50 a year for it. Then they want me to pay for games separately (assuming Steam is supposed to join) via download. This sounds exactly like the current XBox model. What is different or revolutionary about this?
On top of that, the games already stretch the hardware to the limit, so where are we getting this extra computing power?
How do they exactly plan on getting over the graphics rendering and control response hurdles that do not respond well to lag let alone network lag.
I mean he took the CRAPPIEST TIME SLOT on just about every channel and turned it into gold. I can't even begin to think about how many failed shows I saw filter through that 11:30 to midnight time slot on Comedy Central where most viewers switch to one of the usuals (Letterman or Leno).
And realistically I think Serenity drew so many numbers only because of the geek crowd and their obsession with Firefly. Had I known about the contest, I might have gone and voted for that.
Half of my UI components that actually work well request donations.
Under this design, the developers will be more encouraged to move on to some other project or game that doesn't care. In many cases I suspect that they will quit the game altogether as the mod they wrote was generating more money than they were paying out to blizzard and kept them playing in profit.
What about mod promoting sites like Curse or Wowinterface that solicit money? Are they allowed to continue?
Oh well. I suspect this is so blizzard can start moving forward for a mod store.
Claims of 100% are still statistically off by a margin of 3-5% 100% of the time....
That's a lie.

I think you meant Sega Game Gear.
The Nomad was a portable Genesis.
Oh, and you forgot the Atari Lynx.
Ok... I value open standards over closed, so I choose GNU/Linux.
Uh, how about you click Movies and then do your search.
PEBKAC
Hey hey hey. Get in line, I want my AIX release first.

These aren't glitches. These are game mechanics. Next you'll tell me that climbing the wall in Face via teleporter jumping is an exploit or glitch.

I know it's a joke too, but someone will actually implement this because it just gave them the idea...
I wouldn't be surprised if someone had already started working on it with a webcamera.
Ok, so it's an April Fools Joke.... but damn it's well implemented.
They shouldn't restrict the statement to World of Warcraft though since WoW was just following the XBox achievement model.
Add in a month of service they charge you up front. That's another $70 + fees for the average person.
That's pointless, they can't even support the full bandwidth of the existing 3G network to the phones. Infrastructure first before we see this.
Piccard. He wasn't captain of the Enterprise just to get chicks and didn't have too many problems getting lost.

This is fail. Next please.

I dunno...looking at my iPhone it has 4 buttons and a toggle switch.
Most females will agree with this statement.
Like this one:

Sony has one for it's phones:

But honestly, it's bluetooth and I can't wait to play with a wii mote or classic controller.

The Air doesn't have dedicated graphics. The 9400M is still an integrated solution.
Maybe instead of branding, you are paying for quality of service, of parts, and of engineering?
The problem too many people are focused on is the final $$ amount. Too bad it's not that simple.
The problem is that would be considered anti social. Gaming has only been truly popular when it's a social experience.
Look at the Wii's success and the success of MMO's.
