    Similar deal happened to me and Steam a few years back, after a few ticket replies and me providing the expected government documents, they returned it to me.

    SOP for when I was in a call center was that in response to that kind of question, you'd have to let THEM volunteer the information or have them check online.

    And even then we'd expect them to verify all the rest of the account information, server IP addresses, billing address, last bill amount, etc...

    The joke is not meant to be disparaging to delivery people or trans people, but rather to highlight the absurdity if the question by way of the obviously extreme answer. It makes no sense that the person would change genders for a delivery job, which further highlights how dumb it is for them to ask what they would do with scissors as a delivery person.

    Except that they have already been given subsidies and fees since the 90's with the expectation that they would carry out needed maintenance and upgrades on their network to support the growing demand.

    The only way this makes sense is if the actual hardware itself has increased 900%, which in fact it's actually gotten cheaper while having greater support.

    That's not really relevant, since the main issue for network infrastructure is concurrent usage. If everyone on a 5GB plan used their BW at the same time, then the networking gear would need to be able to accommodate that, and the remaining time it'd be underutilized.

    This is why many ISPs and hosting provides oversell their bandwidth, with the expectation that not everyone will A)Use their full allocation, or B)Not use their allocation at the same time.

    Yea, I got a Prius and the engine compartment is so compact it's a labor to do even simple repairs. I wanted to replace the light bulbs, no problem... Except that it's all so compacted I can hardly get my hand near the rear of the housing let alone pull it out. Seems I'd have to remove basically the whole front side of the car, and pull the housings out through the front, and then I could pull the bulbs out.

    Took me three hours and a good deal of internet research to do what I thought would have taken 5 minutes. And thanks god my Impact Driver.

    Exactly, car's are effectively required to live in the US.
    Public transit is a joke in many major cities; when I lived on my own the bus trip each was was 3 hours to/from work. The system had been laid out so everything was centralized in the middle of downtown, and few routes went latterly. So to go from the NW side to the N side, you'd have to take the trip down into downtown then back up to the north side.

    Also the people pocketing that money, are the ones who donate to the election campaigns of the Congressmen who approve such contracts. It's basically money laundering; since they cannot pay for their campaign expenses directly with the government's money, they split it with a second party to do half assed work.

    Same, my Apt complex has an exclusivity deal, previously with a small local reseller Wavevision and now it's moved to Comcast. I got zero choice and if I don't like it, I can completely move where I live.

    Wear... Even at a microscopic level the it can still suffer wear as a result of otherwise imperceptible movement and is also why it's designed as it is.
    Since one of the most common SI units is based on however much this thing weights it's important that it be left as intact as possible.

    As I recall OnLive was pretty decent for most instances, and is what Gaikai is modeled after. Only times people really seemed to complain was for really twitchy fighting games, when a fraction of a second really mattered.

    What I am not too keen for is GaaS(Gaming as a Service), not a fan of paying a regular subscription fee for a non-MMO game.

    Also useful for mods and early access games.

    Kerbal Space Program updates often break popular mods, so you options are to just not update, or wait for the modder to get around to updating it. With Auto-Update on, then when the Dev's push a patch you'll find your whole save game gone or vital parts broken.

    Even at the lower rate of 13%, as it is about 10-20% of money raised falls through, and then the platform used takes around 10%. So if you raise $100k, then you might only get around $67k.

    Same, for such games you do need to keep things like the descriptions rather serious, if the rest of the game is.

    It's jarring when the game and campaign is designed as some space opera, but the tech tree is like something from KSP. The audio clips from AC were just golden and were great for making it seems like you were part of a functional world; like in real life, faction leaders will make PR comments about new technology or repeat famous quotes.

    Similar for me, I traded in like 8 of my PC games for a pittance to be able to afford MOO3 when it was released. Some were at the time hard to find and became quite valuable in recent years, such as Total Annihilation.

    Well keep in mind in response to that incident, the woman ended up writing a letter of apology to Stardock and Wardell.

    Seems she may have departed on bad terms and they had evidence she destroyed company property in the process, and were willing to drop it till she filed her harassment suit. In response Stardock countered with the property destruction, and as part of the settlement both cases were dropped and she apologized for causing the trouble.

    One generally does not apologize for causing trouble if they are a legitimate victim of sexual harassment.

    It works out to about 8 Amps, any circuit in the country should handle that and if they cannot they are not up to code and actions should be taken against the builders/installers.
