    I got ftth at home some months ago.

    After a month trying to solve the tiny little problem of having a packet loss between 5 and 25%, the ISP simply didn't know what was happening and they politely told me to find another ISP and retry in a year or two, when the technology was more stable.

    I'm fairly certain the hotel *could* have me arrested for stealing their soap, it's just not usually worth their time.

    I'm trying to imagine a way they could prove you stole the soap.

    Maybe they could simply decide that if the soap wasn't there after you were gone, you surely stole it. And if that event happened three times, they could permanently ban you from all hotels.

    I don't think anyone has a full grasp of what would happen if the US simply stopped doing business with China cold turkey style

    I'd say, it would benefit every country inbetween. I don't think US citizens would unanimously stop using cheaper china produced products; they'd just be a little less cheaper for passing through another country.

    Alcohol is a drug, isn't it? I've used it, and I'm no junkie nor have I killed someone.

    Alcohol is linked to large amounts of deaths every year, from alcohol induced violence to traffic accidents.

    There are lots of people who would love to ban alcohol.

    The reality is that if more than half the population really wanted to lift the ban on mj, it would be used in political campaigns as a serious point.

    It would also help if it was the correct half. Those who vote with banknotes.

    Because it's a drug and then you become a junkie and kill people.

    The law is irrelevant: they settled out of court. Nothing to see here.

    How is law irrelevant in settling out of court? Do you think they settle based on their personal morals? On a coin toss?

    Obviously the settling is legal but the fact that they settled means there was a chance of losing the case in court.

    TMNT is no game franchise, no name to be wasted. So it comes down to whether the beancounters want the game to be a quick buck or a foundation for further games.

    I agree. But they do have a limit of uses of "From the creators of Smash Bros".

    Let's hope they did take into account that if the next game was also good, they could start a creator franchise somewhat separated from the games themselves, like Blizzard.

    I actually take it a step further in that I dban _every_ used storage device I get without first looking to see what is on it, so I have no clue if I ever received something via a second-hand device that I should not have.

    By now you should have all concerts and mtv videos in 1080p, ready to be remotely played on your 50" tv and at the same time, seeded by torrent.

    Then someone would nuke your release because one of the videos isn't really in 4.1 and on the propper, he'd include the cracked guitar hero game and 50 ebooks of pretty little poems about Ulrich; 49 of which would be haiku.

    I'm not getting good visual feedback from my code so I tend to get stuck in a rut and have to force myself to program.

    I'm sure there are lots of people who've worked as programmers that feel exactly the same.

    I spent a month playing with XNA and a physics engine and, while I got a lot of fun from it, having to learn and do everything else i'd need to make a face for my code, I simply chose a different hobby.

    No more than a week ago I thought about making a game controlled by OCZ's NIA and simply thinking about relearning shaders killed any imagined enjoyment.
