The question they "have an answer" to is "What will you do with your PowerMac after Apple switches to Intel?". Meaning, after you get a shiny Intel Mac, go ahead an install YDL on your old PPC Mac. I don't think they plan on doing YDL for intel.
If you use OS X and Mail.app, it's easy. Turn off the new mail notification in preferences, and add a rule that executes an applescript. Have the applescript choose a random sound somewhere and play it.
Should I look for a bluetooth enabled phone for my next cell phone?
Answer: If you have a Mac, definitely. If not, forget it.
Here's how Bluetooth helps me:
My phone syncs automatically with my Address Book and iCal on my desktop every day (both ways)
When I get a phone call, a window pops up on my screen with the caller ID information asking if I want to send them to voicemail
I can send SMS messages through my phone straight from Address Book (and incoming messages pop up on my screen)
When I receive or make a call, iTunes pauses until the call is over (totally caught me off guard first time this happened - now I can't live without it)
I can control tons of stuff on my Mac through my phone (Keynote, DVD player, iTunes, etc)
When I leave the vicinity of my computer, my iChat status changes to "Away", and changes back to "Available" when I come back - it also removes ssh keys from my ssh-agent
Features like this may be available in some sick, twisted way on Windows (or maybe even Linux?) but from what I've heard they're not nearly as polished and easy to use as on OS X.
No it doesn't. Several stories are shown on individual category pages that don't show up on the main page (unless you're logged in and have your preferences set otherwise.)
There are hundreds of replies to this story that explain over and over why HTML does not meet the commonly accepted definition of a programming language (not Turing complete, no data structures, no flow control, etc).
HTML is no more a programming language than a "computer scientist" is "someone who works on computers".
Everyone who said HTML is not a programming language is worried that they are not actually competent programmers.
No, everyone here saying HTML is not a programming language is saying it because it's true. It has nothing to do with how easy it is. I'm sure there are several markup languages that are complicated as hell - that still doesn't make them programming languages. Thanks for the rant though.
Another huge vote for timbuk2. Mine is 2 years old and still looks brand new, with daily, sometimes rough usage. The sleeve fits my PowerBook perfectly and there's plenty of space.
Both the MLA and Chicago Manual of Style suggest one space after punctuation while using a compensatory font (ie, not-monospaced). Two spaces after a period is very out of style. Yeah I know - shocked the hell out of me when I learned it a couple years ago too.
There are also people who have hacked the Series 2 without changing the BIOS. Search tivocommunity and dealdatabase for "2 kernel monte". It's not for the faint of heart.
Apparently you can't read. He said that inflation is not a problem. Therefore he has no reason to volunteer to quit his job to control it, whether or not he thinks it would help.
You don't have to trust Mt. Gox to use Bitcoin.

how do you lock the screen NOW
If you have fast user switching enabled, just choose "Login screen" from the fast user switching menu.

Let's hope so.
Every text field in a Cocoa application gets spell checking "for free". Text fields in forms are no exception.
and you know he's intelligent enough to change his mind if confronted with appropriate facts.
Or, more commonly, new opinion polls.
I'd be interested to know it sends the audio or the file...
It sends an RSA encrypted Apple Lossless stream over RTSP on ports 5000 and 6000.

It was almost definitely a steroid, such as cortisone.

Unlocking the screen saver isn't supported in 10.3.

Hit 'C' on the 3390 to decline an incoming call.
Did you even read the blurb? Quicktime's AAC encoder won.
I think that it's a safe bet that you're going to find more crazy and stupid people in a trailer park than in, say, Beverly Hills
I was with you up till this line. People in Beverly Hills are just as crazy and stupid, they just have more $$$$$$.
Actual OS X users saw the screenshots hours ago. We don't need to get them via BT.
There's a secret code to turn 30-second skip on (Stop Play Stop 3 0 on the main TiVo menu IIRC).
Actually it's Select-Play-Select-3-0-Select. I've only ever tried it while something is playing, I doubt it works from the Main Menu.
"Who Wants to watch the surveillence cam at Wal Mart"
AKA, Jerry Springer.
Or try MacUpdate. Like VersionTracker, but you don't have to pay for the cool features (email update notifications, etc).
