It's not bad but it's not great either. The property taxes are the real killer though.
There are plenty of people who have honestly bought their homes, no mortgage or anything like that, and they still struggle with their bills. It's insane.
I'm of the belief that in games there should be *no* sure thing, ever.
I started playing Dungeons and Dragons Online with my roommate, and I'm so used to Fumble = Bad Stuff (a fumble is when you roll a 1 on a D20) that I still curse every time it happens.
I guess it all really comes down to balance. The BFG 10K in Quake Live is sick (albeit gimped from the Q3 version). You could have that, Quad Damage, and the Battlesuit (Battlesuit = greatly reduced damage, you're practically invincible) and that doesn't guarantee you any kills because players can still skillfully dodge your attacks.
Well, most people don't go to church every Sunday and get practice belting out hymns. I'm a terrible singer, and I'm sure a lot of people think the same, so do you think they'd merrily come 'round the piano and belt out a nightmarish version of Auld Lang Syne?
Just as much as you'd like your solar power incentives, I'd like your property taxes. Anywhere from $4,000 to upwards of $20,000 a year for a two floor, three bedroom home depending on where you live.
Granted it's still cheaper than what it would cost to rent such a place, but when you hear about triple digit property taxes in some places it really hurts.
Nowadays, instruments are cheap and ubiquitous. With a midi board and GarageBand, you can come up with almost anything you can imagine.
I, for one, am terrible with transcribing music. Like my father I'm the "play by ear" type - I need to hear it to play it. So when I come up with a tune, I put it all together in GarageBand with the simple midi instruments. Once I feel I've got it to the right basic sound, timing, etc. then I get on real instruments and record it.
As for performing, I haven't seen any shortage of musicians or street performers lately, and a cursory stroll through YouTubeville will show that there are millions of musicians out there of all skill levels who are performing for the whole world to see.
5. Harvest Moon. All the fun of watering crops and brushing your pony, except in a massively multi-player setting. And if you get a 40 man group you can brush an epic pony.
I would absolutely play this. I love farming games.
"Hey guys, I just got [Fire-Seared Plow of the Hellforge] offa this sweet turnip mob!"
But seriously, a Harvest Moon Online game has been rumored for years. It's a beautiful form of self-expression, akin to a digital zen garden, which is probably why the Facebook apps FarmVille and FarmTown are so popular.
It depends. If a neighbor's dog kept pooping on my lawn and he had one of those lawnmowing robots, the bot might just mysteriously gain a taste for his petunias.
As the ingenuity of GenL shows, it's not up to them. No matter what a company comes up with to try to get things to go their way, there is someone out there equally as smart and creative (if not more) that will break it.
Soon they'll dig up a dunk tank and other related stuff. "Come to Stonehengeland! See, um, rocks! They're not quite as big as the real thing, but they're still pretty bitchin'!"
Why not allow printer manufactures to block third-party ink and toner suppliers?
They already do this via the chips built into many modern cartridges, so you can only use Company X's cartridges for Company X's printers. Of course you can refill the carts themselves (and it's doubtful that that issue will be resolved anytime soon), but still. Already happenin' man and has been for years.
I liked them, too. I live in Newark, NJ (largest city by pop in NJ). I had to walk outside of my house and down the block to get more than 2 bars. Coverage here for T-Mobile blew; otherwise we would have kept them over Verizon. Despite their locked-down phones and whatnot, their network really is the best (at least for here). I'd probably care more if I wanted my phone to do all that Phone 2.0 shit like video and web and stuff, but I don't particularly care about that.
I'm 6'5", and I'm not terribly comfortable in many cars. Old school Lincolns and stuff, yeah.
I'd really like to get a nice sedan like a Lancer Evolution but I'm honestly worried if I'll fit in the damn thing. :|
What school system in any country teaches their kids, "Hey, so... we really fucked up a lot back then."
My schools never did as far as I can remember (American here). I doubt that's changed in the 5 years since I've been outta high school.

Bah, addendum. -.-

why aren't they building large scale wind farms just offshore instead of subsidizing inefficient use of solar panels?
NIMBYs and HOAs, my friend. NIMBYs and HOAs.
New Jerseyan here.

To quote Col. Potter, "Horse hockey!"

Here's a quartre.
You gave him the pilot of Sandrock? You're gonna have like 50 pissed-off sisters after you.

Not that anyone Rs T F-in' A, but the dress code applies only to avatars associated with the company (say, a company that has a store in Second Life).
Mommy, why are those old guys fighting on the lawn in their underwear?
I suppose that's Superliminal.
L. T. Smash: It's a three-pronged attack. Sub-liminal, liminal and super-liminal.
Lisa: Superliminal?
L. T. Smash: I'll show you. (Leans out of window) Hey, you! Join the Navy!
Carl: Uh, yeah, all right.
Lenny: I'm in.
All you'll have to do is unpop the write protect tab on the side of the reader. Simple.

My guess is that it was an ancient tourist trap.

I live in Newark, so I'd understand how you'd catch some shit. I know it smells bad, but the gas mask was probably a bad idea.
All this talk of lasers and radios and whatnot, and no one else is freaked out by the fact that there's beatles the size of your goddamned hand? o_o

You forgot that they are probably inbred.
-ducks-
Yes, but quite often I've found that you can buy Product X for ($ - <= 5) on Amazon, etc., so while I rarely see something satisfactory.
Who else here had a flashback to Gauntlet Legends?
