Don't you just love this 'align themselves with the mission of...' line? Who needs evidence?
Al Capone's 'mission' was to accumulate wealth. Most of us seek to accumulate wealth by working, etc. Therefore, we've aligned ourselves with Al Capone! We're part of the gang!
Imagine Dell selling dull gray OSX computers for half the price Apple does?
Isn't this meme past it's sell-by date? Can anyone provide a link to this Dell machine which provides the same performance and features as an existing Apple machine at *half* the price?
Oh, didn't you mean *half*? Were you just exaggerating for effect? Did you mean that there's an Apple premium? Perhaps you meant that some people are willing to pay a little more than bargain-basement prices because someone's put more than the bare minimum of effort into bolting together a pile of commodity parts and making sure the damn thing works without the user spending un-costed hours chasing down drivers?
Regarding using Tasers and pepper spray in training: I've always thought that was a bit unrealistic. It's always portrayed as taking the biggest guy in the room, getting his buddies to hold his arms, giving him a clear warning then tasing/whatevering him, then immediately rushing in with the appropriate aftercare.
Wouldn't it be more realistic to take the group out on the town, get everyone drunk then tease the big guy about his sexuality for an hour, then fry him / hose him down without warning and keep doing it until he's 'compliant'?

What do you think happens to the squares in complete rows, you insensitive clod? Oh, sure, they just 'disappear'. Murderer.
The honourable thing to do is to boycott the product. Don't play it, don't talk about it on teh internets, don't do one thing which would encourage the publisher to work on a sequel with yet another type of DRM in it.
When I went to Montreal, I got the impression that every piece of infrastructure in the city had been built, simultaneously, in a hurry, from the same concrete, in time for the Olympics, and now it's all crumbling simultaneously. (As opposed to most cities, where things are built at different times from different materials, so crumble over time.)
Smidge,
I appreciate your factual approach, but you might improve your message if you update it a bit. If RP is getting stories approved in December, I tip my hat to him!
And you aren't even mentioning (probably) the most important factor - weight. I bet you can't find a four-wheel Citroen on sale today that weights less than yours, whatever it is.
Put another way: from the point of view of a Scottish astronomer, contact with the English has provided absolute, stone-cold proof of the existence of at least one highly advanced society.
Okay. E-fucking-nough.
Dear Slashdot:
I want a 'block Anonymous Coward post' preference. I don't care if they're Deep Throat with a cure for cancer, I don't want to see any AC posts or any response, AC or not, to an AC post.
What do you say?
Umm... dear Slashdot. Given that AC posting seems to be essential to modern democracy, can we have a way to block posters anonymously, i.e. I don't care who the above poster actually *is*, I just don't want to see their crap ever again, whether they're posting AC or not?
Whereas the first rule of US conservatism is, "My country* wrong or, occasionally, right".
(* 'My country' being defined as the actions of a Republican president and his clique of buddies)
'and then watch latest movie'... if only. What you do then is watch the mandatory adverts. Which start over again if any of the authorised viewers mover out of range of the telescreen.
Good, but until you use the phrases 'mil-spec' or 'laboratory-grade', it all sounds a bit off-the-shelf :-)

In any case, it's over nine thousand!
I was spanked repeatedly as a child

Mod up! Last line is possibly the simplest summary of the real issue I've seen recently.

Great idea! All of the racist AC twerps on /. would orgasm to death, and MS would be sued into oblivion. Win-win!
Minor problem if you have power-assisted steering or brakes.
Inhumane? Really? Really, 'inhumane'? Perspective? Please?

People getting hit with cars over election issues? Already an issue in Canada: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canadavotes/story/2008/10/06/vandalism-highpark.html (People with Liberal lawn-signs getting their brake lines cut.)

At least you've got The Wall to hang panels on.
You're already repellent.
How so? Define your terms: how is atheism an irrational/non-rational belief in the supernatural?

Why US residents only?
