Correction, *all* of those items are stock. There are 4 versions of the Crown Victoria, P72, P73, P74 and P75. In order, they are the civillian version, the common cab, the police cruizer and the Police Interceptor. The CV hasn't had drum brakes since 1992.
They all come out of the St. Thomas assembly plant, and all those things (including the lights and cages) can be installed from the factory.
There is no such thing as a gov' chip. It's factory programming in the PCU that determines maximum speed. A simple handheld microtuner can remove the speed limiting.
And, yes, all of the engine and suspension components are available in a factory car available to the public, called the Mercury Marauder (factory option M75). Actually, the Marauder is *faster* than a stock Police Interceptor.
Since American C/KU, XM radio and such are illegal in Canada, you'd kind of expect that there would be a fine at least for owning them. Since the encryption is categorized as 'military' grade, which is why it can't be exported out of the US, you're pretty much on the US DOD bad list. And you expect no re-criminations from your illegal activity?
Let me guess, you voted LIEberal in the last election, right? I think what you need my friend is a full clip and some privacy.
IIRC, the premise of the series was there was an actual invation from Mars, but the HG Wells story that it was a radio broadcast, not a news broadcast, was the cover up for the actual invasion. The news broadcast was real. Like the 'weather balloon' cover story for Roswell.
Anyone who hasn't driven a mid to late 90's Hummer doesn't realize what a good tool they are, before they began to be used as penis extensions. They are meant to take a beating that any other truck would disintegrate at.
But a Hummer H2, yea, might as well have been made by TOYota.
he had a valid target and recived permission to fire.
Quite the opposite. He was told to hold fire, and that permission to fire was denied. He was ordered to leave the area. He refused and dropped his load anyway.
That's why he's facing charges of disobeying a direct order, as well as manslaughter. All you gotta do is research something before trying to bait me.
I knew 3 of those Candian soldiers. They were good men.
They were the first Canadian soldiers to die in combat since Korea, and it had to be through friendly fire. Makes me wonder if hopping soldiers up on these things won't increase the likelyhood of more friendly fire incidents. I guess we'll find out when the U.S. pilot goes on trial for this next month.
Since when do Americans pay attention to what's happening on outside their country?
I submitted a similar story (2003-09-19 23:30:55 New Privacy act in Canada (yro, news) (rejected)) a few months ago when my company was informed of the changes, and we started to prepare for it.
First - ignore the Gartner Group. Most Financial Managers love the Gartner group for some reason, but WRT technology, I've never found them to be right. I think someone pointed out, using their TCO formula, your toaster costs you $4000 a year to own.
The Robert Francis Group has a.pdf of a study commissioned by IBM on the TCO of Linux (the link is for web servers, but there are other.pdf's under the 'research' link). You have to fill out some data, but it doesn't have to be representative of you. Download the PDF, it's pretty interesting!
So the legal strategy "It wasn't me, it was a hacker/trojan/virus" when it comes to computer crime, really is a valid and beyond-a-reasonable doubt defense.
Cool. Hey look! Someone just put all this tentacle rape stuff in my/home directory!

Oops! Forgot that a Geisha in Gai-Jin is also a decendant of Pilot Blackthorpe.

Bzzzzt! But thanks for playing. The character (can't remeber the name) of the Malasyan guy, captured british pilot, in prison in King Rat is a reporter in Noble House. In Shogun, Blackthorp's decendants are also in Tai Pan and Noble House, as 'protectors' of the dynasty. Usually they are in secondary roles. In Noble House, the family lawyer is a direct decendant of Pilot Blackthorpe.
The whole series (Shogun -> Tai-Pan -> Gai-Jin -> King Rat -> Noble House -> Whirlwind) follows a story line from the 1590's to the 1980's. Read a friggen book lately?

Because most people wouldn't know good coffee if it fell steaming hot into their lap. Starbucks can charge that much because people think it's good or elite or yuppie or something. I'll take my $1.00 cup of Timmies over the breath-freshner-for-people-who-eat-shit that Starbucks sells anyday.

You must be too new to remember the Pinkerton post-columbine "Turn in your depressed friends before they hurt someone" initiative.
Ther're still dirty.

A stunning book for those who haven't read it, part of the "Shogun" series.
