  1. Re:Sour Grapes? on iPhone 7 To Start at 32GB Storage, Says WSJ (time.com) · · Score: 1
While I don't agree with labeling an entire user base morons, I expect the obvious reason for results in studies like that is that Android is an open platform with very inexpensive phones. If you controlled for income and looked only at flagship models you might get a different result.

On the other hand, there might be an element of vanity at work skewing those numbers too. If you're intelligent enough to be super self conscious about your image and subtleties about the way people perceive you, you might be more apt to purchase an Apple device. Probably the same reason pretty people statistically tend to be more intelligent. It correlates mainly to bearing and hygiene and grooming...

  2. Re:Probably an excuse to jack the price. on iPhone 7 To Start at 32GB Storage, Says WSJ (time.com) · · Score: 1

Music streaming services and photos/video. Music streaming (as unintuitive as it sounds) because everyone has their music in the cloud but still wants it sync'd for offline use -to avoid data charges and failure due to dead zones. You end up with even more stored locally than you did when you had to download mp3s. Given what Apple charges for their base model phone and the current increase in music streaming and photo quality, 32GB is really the minimum they could include and still call themselves a flagship phone.

That didn't work out so well for Jeb Bush though did it? The dirty secret is that commercials no longer buy elections. You can't buy an election by flooding the air waves anymore. The innumerable connections between people online are what steers elections these days. People listen to their friends not ads on cable networks.

I would be more interested in this point in obstruction of justice charges. It has been pretty well established that she deliberately deleted contents of the server once the investigation brought it under scrutiny. I'm not sure why this isn't mentioned by anyone.

Yes but the fact that spotify isn't even allowed to tell users that when they download or run the app isn't reasonable.

  6. Well, I think everyone wants to browse their OS and the web visually. The problem is it has never worked in the past. I would love to see this work this time but given the fact that most people can't stand to be in a VR headset for more than 30 minutes at a time, I have my doubts.. at least until an something to magic leap actually makes it into the market. Still, I can't help myself. I love this kind of thing and will definitely try it out.

If you must have ads the lock screen is probably the ideal space but I'm not sure what Amazon is trying to achieve here. This plan would basically self select for only the poorest users that are not inclined to spend even 50 dollars more for a better experience -not the demographic I'd want to target my ads to.

Honestly, the EU response to Muslim migration has been more mellow and accepting than any other culture of any significant size would have been in the history of the world. If millions of European christians began migrating to a middle eastern country and building churches and out breeding the local populace there would be blood in the streets. They don't hate you. Obviously they love you enough to sacrifice everything to include you.

  14. This is one reason why I am in favor of Trump. As a Republican I can't stand stuff like this and it is usually my party leading it. Trump is a pipe bomb tossed into the RNC. I'm hoping that we either get a re-positioning or a forking of the party.

  15. Re:And a few bucks more for missing content on 74% of Netflix Subscribers Would Rather Cancel Their Subscription Than See Ads (allflicks.net) · · Score: 1

Pretty much. As old content providers enter the market with their own streaming services they want more money and are less inclined to license content to other providers that are now considered real competitors. I'm not sure where this will go. Maybe all content providers will end up with a single large wholesale marketplace where all content creators are and every series and movie is available for x price per stream and region locks become a thing of the past... Yeah, seems more likely we're going to start seeing serious fragmentation of content.

  16. Their strategy is original content and older back catalog stuff you might have in the past seen on stations like TBS. I think that is working. It would be suicidal of them to implement ads though. They have to have observed what happened once Hulu offered ad free service -usage skyrocketed.
