So all you'd need to do is create a device to transfer the heat from said tube sock to power for their computer. There would be an immediate decrease in the load (heh heh) on power plants in major cities by 50%!

I guess you're not much of a car enthusiast. It's a bit different than being an "OS enthusiast". For someone happy in their little 4 cylinder motor, yeah of course they don't need to upgrade. But there's always people out there dissatisfied. You ever ride in a Corvette before? However I guess someone, somewhere just HAD to make a car analogy.

I had a fix for this in the first few minutes of it being made known: apt-get install windows xp Though, seriously. Every time some bug comes up in windows I see a plethora of you bearded Linux geeks raising a stink of "lolol install lunix it fixes everatheing!!!". Windows geeks, it's time to get revenge!

Why do overclockers have to ruin everything? Who gives a crap? Buy the chip and save some money from low power usage. It's obviously not engineered for overclocking so go out and rice out a Civic instead because it's the same damn thing. And yes. I just made a car analogy. There ya go.

  12. Well, if it were my country... on Fourth Undersea Cable Taken Offline In Less Than a Week · · Score: 1

I'd be informing the rest of the world that the lines went offline - at least potentially - due to a power issue too, but that would be propoganda. Iran's government is probably just saying this in order to keep a good face in front of the rest of the world, but we can all see the situation has potential to be so much worse than they make it out to be. I would not be surprised in the least that this were some kind of attack by our (or some other) country to tap the information, as was said in other threads.

I'm not much for conspiracy theories, but this is ridiculous. I am failing to see how all of these cables, which have been fine for the most part, suddenly all fail within a week of one another. Does anyone have any data regarding the MTBF for a typical undersea internet fiber cable?

  13. Re:The RIAA should be careful what they ask for... on Four Indicted in Pirate Bay Case · · Score: 1

I have a bad feeling that what will come out of this court case is that anyone hosting a torrent file pointing to an "illegal" download will be punishable by law, as well as all the involved seeders/leechers. It's the simple fix that I bet will be voted into law soon - and we all know how government loves to implement those cheap, easy "fixes".

Hell, I remember way back then when I started to dabble in map making just so I could make my middle and high schools into maps. I thought it'd be neat because they were big areas with lots of places to hide, and my friends would all recognize it and be able to play a good pickup game. The thought of actually doing anything bad in real life was the farthest thought from my mind. Seriously.

But, man.. those schools woulda made two sweet maps :)

  17. Adblock Plus on Snopes Pushing Zango Adware · · Score: 2, Insightful

It might be Adblock Plus, then. It automatically prompts upon your first Firefox load (after installing the addon, of course) for a subscription server. After that, you don't need to touch a thing. I didn't know Snopes (or most sites for that matter) even ran ads until I saw this article.
