Examples include engineering simulations of products that must have robust preventions of system failures, pharmaceutical simulations of chemical reactions that may have natural anomalies, statistical research that depends on many unknowns, stalk market predictions that depend on such statistical research, evolutionary algorithms that thrive on error, and it can even serve as supplemental calculation for AI to learn how to deal with new and unexpected occurrences. Like I said this processor has a whole new niche of its own, and it may come standard in a pc like the GPU.

I'm talking about one lasting decades checking on the same patients from a very early age, setting up multiple controls, and then having multiple upbringings with different video games played routinely to rule out any other factor that may contribute to the future behavior of the child. It should be one where the patient does not know he/she is being observed, and one that does not allow for any biased results. Up to date, no one has come ANYWHERE NEAR. The main reason I think your child should not play GTA is because of the moral corruption, not the violence. If there should be a warning on games, it should read, warning: children do not come with the knowledge of the moral implications of their actions. That being said, it's damn near impossible to keep such media from reaching your child (as the porn DVD has shown you). If you do have some time to spare, you should do some research on video games with reasonable violence that rewards "good" actions such as diplomacy, and downplays violence to be only a last resort for defending, since it could loose you potential allies. I would highly recommend that you purchase "Black and White 2", and sit down with him and make sure that he attempts to become a benevolent (as opposed to malevolent) deity. It's similar to how my dad got me a playboy magazine when I was younger. I know it sounds controversial, but my dad explicitly chose a magazine that simply had beautiful topless women in dignified poses with no text on sex. I honestly think there's no harm in nudity, but there is in the strong sexual content that is scattered throughout the web, and that magazine kept me from looking for it for a long time (believe me he WILL stumble upon it). I don't think that your child should play GTA. In my initial post, I was clear to state a young enough child will simply imitate what is done on the video game. What I am saying is that in my view (as a student in progress to becoming a scientist), the results are inconclusive as to whether or not aggressive behavior can stem from violent video games. I have yet to see a decent controlled experiment that has lasted up to a year (though in my opinion it should last decades to be 100% conclusive) that has many different conditions to rule out any other factor (as well as a control) that hands down points in one direction. To be fair, I haven't looked, but my psychology teacher (who agrees with me) keeps me posted on these kinds of things, and brings up interesting experiments quite frequently into conversations. I'll make sure to inquire if anything new has come up, but I doubt it. Either way, we are not at a point where we can start allocating tax dollars on this crap. Also, we're not at the point where we should be sewing companies based on this (my main source of anger at these experiments), especially not when it is the responsibility of parents to control what influences their children, and I think we can both agree on this.
