I have an EeePC 1000H with 2 gigs of ram and XP. I bought it to make live DJsets (with Mixxx, if you are interested). Well, it runs great on XP, with just not so much latency. It's only slow when calculating the song's beats, but it normal since the Atom is not the fastest CPU... Then I tried Xubuntu with a custom EeePC kernel... well, i have to say that KDE4 is nicer than XP, BUT Mixxx (compiled on the machine, with optimizations enabled) is SLOWER. Latency is doubled, the graphics are slower etc..
tl;dr: drivers in XP are A LOT better, EeePC is faster.
Ok. Then I am surprised that someone outside of Sardinia knows about it. It's really a disgusting dish (cheese with LIVE worms), but a lot of people LOVES it.

Lenovo makes great notebooks.
I'm almost sure that KDE ripped that off Vista. Shamelessy. But... it's a nice feature.
For a moment I thought: "Damn, Stephen Hawking also writes Linux audio drivers in his free time?"
You had a bloody surprise
That's why there are password protected torrent sites. They can give you WHAT CD you want. :D
