I only wish that there were more pinball2000 systems coming out. Perhapse if they made a more servicable system - the operator of the gamroom could pop out a faulty flipper/bumper/whatever mechanism and pop-in a new one without the machine being out of order for a week...
A deeper problem that I see is that the employed individual has no need to better himself. And, the unemployed person is looked over for positions because he is "overqualified", which really means the resume is interpreted to be for a candidate that will be too expensive to even bother interviewing.
In point of fact, gross salary is but a piece of the compensation puzzle. I have a commute from hell. 2-4 hours each day. Cutting that in half would be worth a considerable amount to me. It would effectively give me as much as an extra workday each week to do whatever I want to do.
Cam you tell me how much an extra hour or two a day would be worth to you?
After my initial post I realized that it would not be seen as it most 2nd or 3rd level replies most often languish unread.
I reposted as a direct reply specificly because I wanted to see others take on my thoughts.
I, too, find it quite interesting that this (slightly modified yet submitted only moments later) duplication received more response. Even exceeding my own expectations.
In this country your individual stupidity is everyone else's fault. ex: placing hot coffee against genetalia and then driving away. ex: standing on top step of a ladder and falling off ex: using hairdryer while in shower ex: using microwave outside in rain ex: removing tags from mattress
The problem with common sense is that it is not common.
I know many people who are still employed simply because they do not have strong skills.
Management went through and axed folks who cost money. Skilled workers cost money. They kept the low men on the totem pole. People that they could keep dumping crap work onto. People who will never find better jobs anywhere. People who will continue to work applying hack after hack, and bandaid after bandaid rather than fixing any one problem because they do not know how to debug problems. People who accept gladly an artificially low salary.
They don't keep the skilled technicians that could maintain everything because they cost more money. instead they "hire the handicapped" and keep the cheap flunkies who do what they are told and will not complain when the finger of blame is pointed at them for the technology failing that they do not know how to support in the first place!

Tell me why they are not already watermarked. It would not be so hard to watermark a seperate serialnumber into each copy sent out - there is a very limited number of screeners right? under 1000?
I have a friend that converts Albums (you know those plastic discs with the groove in them?) to digital.
He filters out pop and hiss to come up with his own masters that sound even better than the digital remasters you buy in the stores.
That, my friends, is why these attempts with copyright infringing DRM software will never work.
Yes, DRM *IS* copyright infringing. It blocks me from my right to make legal copies. It is they who are breaking the laws not I.... as long as I do not share the results...
Oh, and you have never been cold called on your CellPhone? You ARE lucky. Just wait. that comes next and if these controlls are not in place than you will be stuck with the bill.
Legislation is in process to force companies to disclose the inner workings of said diagnostic tools. This is to allow JoeConsumer the ability to get a third party diagnostic and be able to do repairs themselves.
Damn straight! I have watched as my taxes have increased with every year. Unemployment benefits are 50% of your salary CAPPED AT 500/wk in MA. So, unless you make under 25000 gross. you are screwed.
Not only that, you are TAXED on that money.
Thats right, you pay taxes on money that was taken from you as a tax in the firstplace. Imagine being taxed on your tax refund check.
The goal is to have accurate tallying. In my home town we use paper ballots and a blue felt pen to connect arrows indicating our choices.
The ballots are then loaded into electric counting boxes. At close of the polls the boxes are "read" and the results known.
If there is a question of validity, the paper ballots are re-counted.
I would like to see some sort of identifiable mark placed on a ballot. That way if an individual ballot comes under question, the voter can be inquired.
I would also like to see some sort of ID checking at the polls. Not just My name is... I live at...
white collar crime is not a threat against the individual. the miscreant wandering around will not be a greater threat to society than were he behind bars.
the cost of putting a person in the slammer is not negligible.
Fine them for all the money made polus damages plus court costs etc.
Ban them from the use of computers A-La Mitnick.
See just how long they continue their practices.
Leave the prisons for the truly dangerous criminals that we do not want on the streets.
The way i see it they need more people to play. If people Think the game is good they will sign up. If they access the forums and see a lot of nnoise from a few squeeky wheels they may not.
Of course I can see a new market for public forums to take the place of the official forums. In fact...
I can still here JarJar...

Score one for predictable people.
Then we would not need so many lawyers.

it cannot be that hard to do.
Then you bust the screeners who screw you.
Done.
cant get there without registration now.
however, the page with the image listed height and depth.
I cannot check now but I could have sworn it said 70ft in height.
It does have a stack in the photo.
nope. but I knew about that one.
sucks to be him
Maybe the Greenies in nantucket would prefer a few of these inplace of the windmills being proposed.
they are only 70 feet tall!!
they could be installed on-island and generate all the electricity they need.
And what, exactly, am I to do with my radioactive waste?
I already have issues just trying to dispose of radioactive cat litter ( what you get when treating a cat for cancer )
I have mirrored it - Here
This won't be around for long - maybe a day or two tops. someone else wnat to mirror from me?
just press the button and fold it up into your suitcase.
What, you don't have one of those?

that I can make a copy for myself and so, in order not to loose that right, I excersize it on a daily basis. Any media that I aquire, I make a copy.
If you do not exercise your rights you will loose them (or at least not know when they were lost).
no landline in 3 years...

how much for one of those?
does it have a snorkel for intake/exhaust or is it really submersible?
Here is the site, PowerSki.com
I have dreamed of these for years.
I wonder if I can get it in kit form?

They set up a few servers with a bunch of the top songs. They can "share" them to the system because they own the rights.
However, you, the downloader does not have permission to download them.
Any number of scenarios can then be used:
They take the logs of who downloaded from them and hits their shares to see what they have.
monitor the downloads until they have enough from the same addreses to go after that address
They have been aware of sharing for a few years.
Think that is enough time to get some solid data?
I tend to think so.
