    And if you find a "defective CD" tell everyone you know that they should go buy it and return it as defective.
    Hit them where it hurts, in the wallet.

    If nothing else they will have to hire a few more people to process the returns, and you can feel good that your effort helped to keep someone employed.

    God how I miss Wordstar. I have a copy of Qedit on my work windoze box, and never fail to install Joe on and Linux box I set up.

    Before you flame me for not uning vi, or Emacs. I am expert with both of them, Wordstar was my first wordprocessor, and I doubt I will ever get as fast with something else as I am with the Wordstar keyboard commands.

    The only people I have ever seen told to RTFM, and people who jump into discussion and ask "How do I get XYZ to run?"

    If you provide some information regarding your problem, and what you have tried to solve the problem yourself. You will find the Linux people are the most friendly and helpfull people you will ever find.
    Ask an unanswerable question, and get a RTFM answer.

    Computers as desks.

    I have 2 old servers (AST Manhatan series) with a desktop on top of them.. Best desk I have ever had.. Plus I gutted one of the AST's and put my athlon into it.

    KDE is there now.. Gnome might be there in 6 months to a year.. That is the easiest decision I have ever had to make.

    Not good enough.. I want to be able to just plug it into my hub and run 10/100 ethernet into my existing network.. If it ran Linux so I can use standard network diag tools, I would happily trade my first born for one.

    1. Keyboard.. I got into conputers because I can't write.
    2. Ethernet interface.
    3. TCP/IP..

    The fact that this machine does not exist is the reason I don't own a PDA.
    Just add an SSH client and I would be in heaven.

    The only pointing device I use is a trackball. Absolutley perfect for games, and helps reduce carpal tunel syndrome.
    Takes about an hour to get used to, then you will never go back.

    Good for you. They will be seeing some mose money from me as well, I buy every x.0 release, and download the .x releases.
    "When I get home, I don't want to be a sysadmin any more. I just want to click on the Unreal Tournament icon and kill some people. Mandrake lets me do that with minimal fuss. That's why I'm a fan."
    I agree completely, I bought Mandrake 6.0 by accident (Was advertized as RedHat 6.0) I figured I might as well install it, then return it complaining that it wasn't what it was advertized as. Within 5 mins of finnishing the install I knew that I wasn't going to return it. Why? Because all the extra tools that I used to have to download and install manualy were all there, ready to go.
    I am just lazy. It is not that I can't install the extras, it is just Why should I when Mandrake does it for me?
    I have been using Mandrake 8.0 Beta 3 for a couple of weeks... Very nice..
