Only problem is that you assume that the US is entirely correct in every action that it makes.
I don't think I need to quote statistics on how greedy our country is. We also blindly condone all the Israeli atrocities while condemning the Palestinian efforts to fight back. Our economy and military in its present state is very agressive and is ultimately very destructive.
Perhaps we do need to change.
I am in NO way condoning the attacks, but in their minds, what they were doing was right. Just as we are expected to stand up for what you believe is right, you must expect everyone else to stand up for what they belive is right, and that we don't all have the same beliefs.
Were the hijackers "right" in killing countless innocent civillians? Of course not.
All we really need to screw the whole thing up is for one of the many tubes is to spring a leak, at which point you need to make sure you have popcorn handy (and quick too), because for about then next five seconds, you can cook some damn good popcorn.
...seeing as virtually ever single form of encryption ever made has been defeated.
It doesn't matter how hard you work to encrypt something, a way to decode it will very likely be found.
Sure, there are exceptions. For example, during WWII, the US forces code was never cracked by the germans or the japanese. Why? Because even if they DID crack the code, all of the people who were responsible for sending and recieving the encrypted messages were using Navajo in the messages.
But since computers don't speak Navajo, but in ones and zeroes, such a thing is not possible.
And more importantly, I'm missing the point of this encryption. As i've got a very strong feeling that CD's aren't going to just disappear in at least the next 20 years, you can't encrypt the CD tracks without making all of the older CD players obsolete.
Of course, I could be horribly wrong. I'm pretty damn good at that sometimes.

Lars, several weeks ago you said that "It is therefore sickening to know that our art is being traded like a commodity rather than the art that it is." Given the price to produce CD'S (Less than a dollar), the price that they are sold ($15-$20), and the average cut to the artist(a dollar per CD if they're lucky), isn't putting your CD's on the shelf with a 1000+ per cent markup making your CD's a commodity? What is really important in a UI is the ability to configure that UI. For example, I use LiteStep, a AfterStep clone for windows, on my windows partition. LiteStep is quite configurable, with new modules being added and refined every day. There are tons of authors that make dazzling themes, and anyone with a little graphics and LiteStep knowledge can make their own themes to suit them as they please.
For example, if a person wants, they can have a control panel for an MP3 player such as winamp on their desktop, a small module that automatically checks their mail, a module that updates the weather conditions, one that monitors system load (and Mobo temperature as well)... as well as plenty of other things. It's this configurability that makes configurable UI's such as LiteStep excellent choices. There is literally something for everyone.
