    I have a question about how this works, money laundering is described thusly: "By its nature, money laundering (as in the case of receiving stolen goods) is a form of acting as an accessory after the fact, - a material contribution to, or assistance in, taking benefits from assets of illegal origin." It's my understanding that a bank is liable when they gain or take benefit from stolen goods. If Rapidshare is charging for the distribution of stolen goods, are they then gaining from assets of illegal origin?

    I have a new-ish house where there wasn't originally a phone line. I added AT&T service about a month ago and they have yet to bury it. It seems like they're not too serious about this issue.

    Why take a risk on a new market when you have an established one? Gaming companies are just as risk-averse as movie-makers are. If they think they have a formula that works, they will use it until it fails.

    Absolutely--mod this up. A higher percentage of internet users is also a factor. Controlling for this and somehow standardizing (logit, z-score or whatever) would be much more informative.

    Unfortunately, probably both opinions are valid here. Concentration of power either by the government or a corporate power can lead to an abuse of power and censorship.
