    Fannie and Freddie purchased the subprime loans from other lenders, creating a huge market for them overnight. Why not issue a subprime loan if you can turn around and sell it the next day? You keep all the initial fees and assume none of the risk.

    when I was 10-11 my dad caught me looking at porn on our C64. The next day my mom made him pack the computer up for several years until we got a new PC.

    *before* the ceasefire ending Hamas fired almost 3000 rockets into Israel. I'd say they broke the ceasefire well before the IDF "provoked" them.

    I agree they should open up the borders, the problem is the people in gaza voted for a terrorist group to run things. Now they have to live with the fact that Hamas uses any opening in the border to bring in weapons.

    Body count is no way to judge these things, as Hamas deliberately hides their weapons and members amount civilians to inflate it. In an ideal world the should be blamed by all for those civilian deaths as well. Even this girl gets it.

    Uh, they posted video of mortars being fired from that school last week. Was it currently being used? We have no way of knowing, but that's how all intelligence works.

    Point being the elected government of Gaza was using a UN non-military building as a base of operations to launch attacks on a civilian populace.

    or perhaps the economic situation isn't hitting everyone equally. For instance I saved up already, got a reasonable mortgage, and bought a house. I didn't get an ARM and monthly payments that are more than I make each month because I didn't want to be financially reckless.

    Besides, maybe buying the gift cards *is* their way of saving. Amazon does have some great deals. I bought all my college books on there for fractions of what the university bookstore charged.

    not only chips, deaths from prescription medications each year are thousands and thousands more than deaths from illegal drugs.

    hell, deaths from aspirin every year outnumber the total who have died on mdma ever!

    the safety issue is a total distraction, and if I had mod points I'd give them to you.

    Huffing paint isn't safe, but people still do it and oddly enough we haven't outlawed paint.

    one thing I noticed they do include is every single archive of a mailing list I'm on, so a search for my name returns the exact same message posting over 20 times before I get real results.

    even my domain (which is firstnamelastname.com) doesn't show up.

    Great layout, terrible results.
