SCO announced that it has appointed a new CEO, Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf, to carry on with the lawsuits against IBM. You may remember Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf from his former position as the Iraqi Information Minister.

Will it be case sensitive? They may be able to make the shell commands case sensitive, but the file system would still have to be case insensitive. That is unless MS is willing to make major changes to file system functionality.
My BlackBerry has an AutoText completed feature on it. I wonder if I could set it up to use a morse code setup. I would select two letters, one to represent dots and one to represent dashes. Hmmm... interesting.
Although I wouldn't mind Open Source software, especially Linux, to dominate the world someday, I do not think it will happen anytime soon. The effects of Open Source software on MS business model can be plainly seen today.
"Low cost" versions of MS Windows are being offered in several countries to compete against the rising tide of Linux. Even MS Office has had to compete against Star Office / OpenOffice. Although Java is not open source, it too has forced MS.Net to compete. The same can be said for Apache vs IIS, PHP vs ASP, Mozilla / FireFox vs IE, the list goes on and on.
Open Source may not dominate the world in the near future, but it is forcing the largest software company to change its business model.
I don't have much to say on the pros or cons on the.Net platform, but it really gets to me when Developers (Computer Programmers) state that 1000K equals 1MB.
"My Response: Maybe I'm being too picky, but the size is 23,698K or 23.7MB."
It would have slightly aided his argument if he had used the correct ratio of 1024K to 1MB. The total size of the.Net package would have been 23.1MB or 23.14MB.
I had to buy a calculator for a Financial Accounting class that I am taking. I decided to buy an HP 17 BII+. I went to Amazon and read some of the reviews for this calculator. There were a lot of negative reviews stating that this calculator was a cheap copy of the 17BII. I then went to EBay and found that the 17BII (the older version) was selling at about the 60 to 75+% of the original sticker price. (This also applied for the HP 32?? that I bought in high school in the 1990.) This is surprising considering that some of these calculators are ten to fifteen years old. I bought a 17BII off of EBay.
I know the calculator division is not the biggest at HP, but my personal experience seems to support this engineer's story.
Alex Wildstar's ship crash landed on Titan. He was taken prisoner by the Gamelons and while he was being transported to Iscandar, something happned and he somehow ended up on the planet with Tralana...
I had a chance to view the original series again in college (8 years ago), but I understand they are selling the series on DVD now.
I wonder if they'll find Alex WildStar's missile ship #17... Perhaps, they'll even find his gun. Watch out for the Gamelon tank...
If you don't what I'm talking about, then you've probably never had the pleasure of watching the "Star Blazers" series... I used to run home from the school bus stop to watch it...
Almost failed out of college due to MUDDing... After that, I promised myself that I would only buy one computer game a year. Unfortunately, with the proliferation of network games, one computer game a year is still risky.
The article specifies that the person connected his FM card to an aerial antenna. Could you connect your wireless router to the aerial antenna as well? I have an aerial antenna, but do not have a wireless router. (Yes, I'm a little behind on my technology purchases...)

I may have to add RTFM and Googling for Information to my resumee as IT skills. It would be a good way to gauge my future employer if they knew what those two things were... If anything, we'd get a good laugh out of them during the interview.
What about the other software on the copy cat site? Are those software applications developed by others and illegal resold on this website? Did the author make any attempt to verify the origin of the other software? I know it isn't his responsibility to do so, but I think it would be helpful to other developers...
Somebody else may have already said this, but isn't "one program calling another program for help" the whole idea behind object oriented programming? And even before object oriented programming was defined, one program calling another program can be found in almost any operating system or complex application.
Starting a few days ago, I have not been able to access my Hotmail account with either Mozilla or IE. Before it said that it was sometype of network problem, but when I tried it with Mozilla today, it said that I had to enable cookies. I enable cookies for all sites and it still didn't work. Thank God, I got a gmail account a week ago. I was in the processing of moving over to it, but haven't gotten everything over yet... Anybody else have similiar problems?
I saw his ID Number too and came to the same conclusion that he is not astroturfing. But at the same time, I'm not sure what is his motivation for defending Infinium Labs.
There seems to be some confusion about the movie, Andromeda Strain. Here is the (poor) plot summary from IMDB, but the similarities to the current NASA Genesis mission:
A U.S. Army satellite (Scoop VII) falls to earth near Piedmont, New Mexico. The recovery team experiences difficulties as it becomes clear that the satellite has performed its intended function all too well, and has brought back something from space. A team of scientists is assembled in a high-tech, underground facility to identify and defeat the "enemy" before it is too late.

It seems that Michael Crichton wrote the novel while in medical school.
I remember the problems that I had accessing my Hotmail account when they tried to swith from BSD to NT the first time. I could not sign on for days or it was very very slow. Then they switched back to BSD. I encountered similiar, but not as serious, problems when they switched to W2K. I wonder what it will be like when they switch from 2MB to 2GB? I really hope that history does not repeat itself.
Does anybody have a fear or feel paranoid about all of the wireless devices that we currently use, the radio waves that they produce and their affect on the human body?

I personally like the case sensitivity in Unix/Linux and C/Java. It forces me to be more careful at what I do.

Why wouldn't Apple consider using AMD processors or the new Cell processor?

A few movies come to mind, when I read the headline and post:
The beginning of Brave Heart, when all of Scottish Leaders are slaughtered after they answer the English King's invitation to peace talks.
The Minority Report, when the pre-crime unit places the devices on the heads of people who were about to commit murder.
The Empire Strikes Back, when Darth Vader says to Luke (after he chops off his hand), "Luke, I am your father."
Hey, who knows it could all turn out well. Let's see...
In Mad Max Beyond the Thuder Dome, "Two Man Enter, One Man Leave." RMS vs. Bill Gates.
Really, this could turn out well.
