Strongly agree. Last year we rebuilt my woman's PC.
Her first requirement? "I want the graphics card you have, and I want a crazy fast CPU" (she was on an old Athlon X4 that was showing it's age in the games she plays)
If I bought her jewelry I'd get yelled at. She wants a bigger SSD next.
the City of Seattle is worse-than-third-world for it's internet. Literally the only options are dialup, ISDN, Cellular, and sometimes Satellite (assuming you have a place to install a dish).
Which is insane since all of the surrounding cities (Kirkland, Bellevue, Renton, Everett, and all the other cities that make up the "Seattle Metropolitan Area") have readily-available cable, mostly from Comcast, with at least a 100mbps tier available.
Your best course of action is to move the fuck out of the City of Seattle.
Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) is a videogame tournament. In this particular case, they're referring to the "League of Legends" portion of the tournament.
Mark Cuban is a rich guy who owns a sports team and is on some TV show called Shark Tank or something. He participated in the event by playing a showmatch with four popular League of Legends players on his team, vs Brian Krzanich (Intel CEO) and four more popular LoL players.
"fuck" is usually banned from broadcasts. In this case, there's no legal reason for it, but it is likely ESL (tournament host) policy to keep the broadcast clean.
As an aside, the showmatch was a huge letdown. Cuban clearly had no idea what was going on, but wanted to play well and was trying his best, following instruction from the pros with him. Brian K clearly had never played a videogame before and didn't try to learn.
I've literally been spammed with ads for System 76 laptops for about 10 months now... because 10 months ago I searched for the best laptop I could that worked under Linux for cheap (System 76 was far outside my price range).
Haven't searched for anything laptops or linux since, still the most common ad I see, being on probably 75% of all sites I visit.
Depending on your T-Mobile plan, it might not cost you anything - their current plans include 2g roaming in several countries at no extra cost, and you can't roam above 2g unless you sign up for a paid plan that gives an allowance of faster roaming data.
If you have Comcast, you probably don't actually live in Seattle.
Internet in the Seattle Metropolitan Area (Kirkland, Bellevue, Renton, Burien, etc) is fine.
Internet in the City of Seattle is often OFFENSIVELY bad (LTE, ISDN, Satellite, Dialup, and in some cases 768mbps DSL being the options).
It's because the City of Seattle is legitimately insane and demands that any new company that wants to provide infrastructure must pay for all repairs/maintenance that the previous companies have neglected. So no one is willing to build infrastructure there because they'll never turn a profit.
Windows 8.1 with Bing has been around for a while.
the important takeaway is that THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE VERSIONS is that THE OEM cannot change the default search software prior to sale. THE END USER CAN CHANGE WHATEVER THEY WANT STILL.
This is a good thing, anything that brings the price of the OS down for the average joe is a good thing. And maybe, if we're lucky, the Chromebooks will have to step up their game to compete with real Windows.
The Steam refund offer, within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime, applies to games and software applications on the Steam store.
Cops escalate domestic disputes and get people hurt/killed.
The solution to domestic violence is highly publicized safe houses with armed guards that victims will A) know about and B) be able to make it to, whether or not they have car access. And to fight stigmas associated with being abused ("she's damaged goods", etc).
The solution is NOT cops coming to the house and escalating the incident.
Arenas are the reason I could never get into PvP in WoW.
"Sorry, you picked the wrong class, you have to either find friends of these exact two other classes/specs to play your preferred spec, or reroll healer". FOR EVERY ARENA SEASON EVER TBC-Current
Yes, I'm a bitter enhancement shaman.
I play League of Legends for my PvP fix. I play WoW for it's group dungeon content, the one thing they actually do well.
Nobody said they weren't evil. I'm not even sure I agree on the "less", although american history education certainly villain-izes the nazis more than the commies.
Meanwhile those of us who are able to comprehend the english language understand that my whole post is stating that women OUR AGE are online, and the problem is the experiences they have when they meet the kinds of people TFA is about online.
3 of the 4 women in my WoW guild (the 4th is my girlfriend) didn't talk in mumble, have "girly" character names, or give any outward indication that they were female, until they realized that my guild is deliberately mostly married guys around age 30, and they heard people *not* being awful to my girlfriend. Then they felt safe enough to actually talk. Because they were TERRIFIED of gaining new stalkers and being abused in voice chat.
One of them is a stay-at-home mom, one's an accountant, I don't know the third's profession. All three have told me the reason they like being in my guild is that I will actively remove people from the guild if they are creeping on the women or otherwise acting like a tool towards them. I've had to do this twice in the past 6 months.
You call it a "bullshit meme", the women in online games call it "reality".
It's not fair that I get modded +5 and you're sitting at 0. Wish I could apply these modpoints I have but I've posted so hopefully someone else upvotes you.

So... watch the last couple of years?

DUCT. TAPE. NOT DUCK.
It's not hard.
Fucking millenials.
Tmobile currently sells unlimited LTE, you just have to pay more than their basic plan :P
Mod parent up, wish I had mod points!

768kbps -_-
I should have noticed that before posting. Oh well.

Uh what?
The Note series of phones SELLING POINT is that they INCLUDE a stylus. It is in no way required. The phones work fine with your finger.
The fault of samsung is making the pen fit perfectly when inserted the wrong way, something they didn't fuck up on previous Note phones.
I have a Note 3 as well.
You are correct FOR OUR PHONES.
The Note 5 redesigned the S-Pen and this is no longer the case - the Note 5 pen can be inserted backwards with zero resistance.
And, you know, this isn't exactly big new news...

Not our fault you can't read.

But since there's no "earth" at the north pole, the correct answer is obviously the south pole.
Unless, of course, it's being reduced to $0.
Whole case was insane to begin with.
Thank you, it was early morning and I couldn't think of the actual word.

keychain 1: NFC tag programmed to instantly silence my phone on contact
keychain 2: World of Warcraft Authenticator
keychain 3: LED flashlight
Not surprised at all at linux support being removed, but being owned by facebook I'd think mac support would be a priority...
Spoken like someone who doesn't actually play WoW.
WoW is a very old game by today's standards, the dudebros quit it years ago.
Okay gamergater.
