Yes true, but when you demand evidence, and one of those guys cannot provide any, then it doesn't matter how loud they shout. It only makes the look like a fool, and then they will be dismissed as whackjobs (or trolls).
Even if it had the capability to do so, it wouldn't happen, not anytime soon. Humans are scared of progress that grave (hell, it'd render us completely obsolete!). As soon as anyone gets close to developing a strong AI, it'll likely be either outlawed or heavily regulated (and in either case, disappear into secret government projects - after all, if anyone else would go rogue and develop a technological singularity...).
Actually, I'm much less concerned about drones acting in dangerous situations than cops or soldiers.
If you find yourself under fire, you'll likely go fight-or-flight, and unless you're superbly trained and disciplined, you won't keep calm but fire at everything that might be the shooter. If you find your remotely-controlled drone under fire while you're comfortably sitting in front of a computer screen, the situation is different. Sure, losing a drone might not be great, but the decision between sacrificing a drone and possibly killing some innocent civilian is a no-brainer. Especially if you've got a lawyer standing right behind you, ensuring that you don't break any regulations.
Why do we imprison them instead of killing them right away? Spy exchange. You may not hear it on TV, but it's pretty likely that they capture one of ours every now and then just as well, and what'd be a better resource to trade in for our spies than their spies?
Take a look at Gimp 2.2; it's - I believe - the last version with the "old" UI, which was very intuitive and convenient to use. They only screwed it up in the newer versions due to reasons completely unknown to me.
I absolutely agree - but I think it's really absolutely terrible that in quite a few countries you're charged with murder when all you did was defending yourself, and that they call themselves "civilized" for that.
If you've got a gun pointed at your face, I'd say your chance of escape is low enough to warrant shooting the bastard, even in a place with less-than-great gun laws. It's still the US and not Europe (where, in many countries, shooting to kill if you could shoot to wound is illegal and you may only shoot if he shot first).
But censorship does not help curb terrorism. Censorship works great for steering popular opinion, but not for dealing with radical elements. Joe Citizen may be put off by a huge flashing sign displaying "This website contains information deemed possibly useful to terrorists, GTFO", but Achmed Terrorist will just find a way around it (or ask his nice friends in the middle east to send him some bomb building manuals or whatnot).
If you want to combat terrorism, you have to fight it at it's root: take out radical preachers and terrorist sympathizers (c'mon, it's not like they are hard to find) and promote cultural integration instead of harassing your citizens.
I don't remember asking you a GOD DAMN THING!
Most countries also prefer to avoid having anything to do with the men threatening western civilization instead of fighting them.
No worries, Sir, I'll remove myself from your lawn ASAP.
Punkbuster isn't all that better (I personally hate it, as it's horribly intrusive) and still by no means a substitute for a good server admin.

Sir, you just made my day. It's a shame I don't have any mod points right now.
Photos of them with their small-breasted wifes? Like this picture of Senator Conroy?
Just remember, in Iran, the majority supports having a death penalty for homosexuals as well...

Oh wait. Slashdot.
Porn.

But of course, we can't just get some proper Euthanasia laws passed...

Slashdot 2.0 makes me feel depressed too.
