    If I moved to where my job is I'd need a 500% raise to afford a mortgage or the rent.

    The government is screwing you in multiple ways. Scarcity of housing is just one of the ways.

    Whats your reaction? Who are you blaming? What do you intend to do about it?

    Personally I vote. Every election. The one federal election every 4 years is the least of my concerns.

    What discussions have you had with the most local politicians? Do you even know who your town council is? Do you even know what they do?

    Good question. As predicted 100 years ago, capitalism will inevitably result in the government being completely co-opted by corporate interests, resulting ultimately in policies that are antithetical to freedom, anti-consumer and anti-worker.

    And the proposed solutions at the time were Communism and Fascism, which were far more rapidly antithetical to those things.

Convert the input into a lower dimensional representation, the lower dimensional representation is then closer to the entropy and thus the knowledge, within the input set. Do this to that reduced representation, rinse and repeat... and you have modern "A.I."

    it has been determined that the "hackers" downloaded the DNC emails at a rate of 22 MEGABYTES per second. This sort of connection isnt available across the atlantic, and isnt available from any ISP in the States.

    But such a connection IS available with a local area network, and further such a speed happens to coincide with the write speed of a large USB thumb drive.

    It really does depend how you count, but I think we can agree that if the State kills the most productive farmers, then the State is responsible for the famine that follows. Just these deaths alone, "The Holodomar", is understood to be be somewhere between 7 million and 10 million.

    Some experts disagree as to if these deaths can be correctly classified as "murder" rather than "execution."

    The thing with Mao is that while he was responsible for doing some "purging", he lost control of the situation entirely. so again people argue how many of the tens millions or so "purge" deaths could be blamed on him. What is a fact is the Mao himself said that as many as 50 million people needed to be "purged." After the "purges" came "the great leap forward" which like with Stalin cased a major famine, with an estimated 48 million people killed.

    Oh, I am sure most of them read it word by word. Each sentence taken in isolation, looking for any gun that even looked like it may have once smoked.

    They didnt find anything tho. Nothing at all. Not a single one of them quotes anything from the survey, and yes the technical term for his paper is a survey.

    It is a survey of the current state-of-science understanding of gender differences. It doesnt cite anything that isnt from an actual legit science journal, but some of the counters cite shit from vanity gender studies journals that have no peer review and no scientific standards of any kind.
