If they placed their own camera in public that did the face recognition in real-time with no storage of data then there wouldn't be a problem either.
I have a much bigger problem with government-owned public facing cameras performing 24/7 facial recognition than I do with the DMV doing some searches on a photo I knowingly gave them.
I wonder how inexpensive it would be to replace these commercial routers with equivalent home-built ones.
Re-purposing an old desktop isn't equivalent due to both space and power consumption. A Raspberry Pi although both small and low power, would need to be augmented with significant further hardware in order to perform an equivalent task.
Throwing an open-source firmware onto a commercial router is a good idea, but in no way really protects you from a hostile hardware maker (or more accurately, a hostile hardware industry.)
He doesn't subscribe to the theory that human motivation is the dominant driver of human economics.
He is wrong of course, but its pervasive throughout. Wishful thinking instead of skilled prediction.
If no disruptive technologies come forth, its a pretty sure bet that people will charge up wherever its "free" to do so, and one of the places where it will be "free" are shopping centers. Home Depot will charge you up while you shop because their competition Lowes doesn't, forcing Lowes to offer "free" charging too.
When they say "I would add LED TVs replacing LCD, Plasma and CRTs" do they mean real ultra-expensive LED TV's, or do they mean those mainstream TV's that use LCD technology but call themselves LED because reasons?
Wannacry gets 75% of a 4 core more machine, while Windows Update burns up the remaining 25% perpetually checking for updates...
It is the rare exception to the rule that actually fixed Windows Update on Win 7 machine since the last time around because they broke it literally right before the windows 10 trickery. Most of the people that noticed just disabled the service. Those that fixed the service were then later met with "Roll Ups" instead of patches and thus most of those eventually disabled the service anyways.
Why did you just ignore the majority of the viewing population completely?
Now it doesnt.
We get it. It doesnt matter how big a white male population is, it can still be easily ignored... neigh even simply forgotten about... by the likes of you. So forggoten that you argue not just as if they didnt matter, but as if they didnt even exist.
In ST:TOS time it was unthinkable, and hence a real honest to goodness social statement.
Today its just another day at the office, and hence is just a pretend social statement supported by shallow empty people that think that their shallow empty platitudes make them progressive.
We were taught that motives matter by people like you. Now you dont want us to care about motive, and how convenient that is. This not only makes Star Trek lesser in our eyes... it makes You lesser in our eyes too.
You can be a freak with a rare "sexuality".. we dont give a damn.. but you can't be a freak with a rare "sexuality" that is also a fucking hypocrite.
We don't like hypocrites. Our dislike of you has to do with who you are, not what you did to yourself.
Notice how this clown just shifted the conversation from people that do not like how other people are acting to nobody will hire them
That, my friends, is exactly the extent of AmiMoJo's thinking ability when it comes to anything that touches on gender. On immediate first-sentence logical fallacy folowed by crap about his fallacy.
When you are in a professional setting you be sensitive to the requirements of the people in that setting.
You first. I am sensitive to people that do not call me The Awesome Duke of Danger That I Service Every Night.
Back in grown up mature world, your own personal sensitivities are your own personal business. They are not the business of the business employing you.
See, let me translate what you are saying:
"In a professional setting, this non-professional thing that I favor should dominate at the expense of everyone who doesnt favor it, because I am a selfish fuck that needs to control behavior even in places where behavioral is the most inappropriate thing and my issue has nothing to do with anything."
Dear Valued Employee. Because your PIN has been compromised we have randomly generated a new PIN for you. Your new PIN is 5555. Please do not write this down.
The breach of contract settlement between IBM and Microsoft stipulated that IBM got exclusive rights to the OS/2 2.x code base and a royalty free license to emulate Microsofts then quite popular Windows 3, while Microsoft got to keep the OS/2 3.0 code base that Microsoft had been delaying development on. The OS/2 3.x line was to be the business/server version of the consumer OS/2 2.x.
Warnings must ultimately be turned off because the code base has migrated from compiler version to compiler version, possibly also from 16-bit to 32-bit to 64-bit,...
It isnt because submitting some new code causes a warning. Its because at some point, overnight, lots of old code started showing warnings with some change such as to a more "standards compliant" version of an ever evolving compiler, so many warnings all at once that it would take a serious concerted to "fix" and its just not worth it.
There were even books written... basically tutorials... on how to write a virus, with examples, long before there was any financial incentive to write one.
A check is a financial instrument. Upon that check is the name of a bank. That bank must honor its financial instruments. Take the check to that bank. If they wont turn it into cash, call the police.
If your employer insists on direct deposit, call your State labor board because thats probably not legal in your State. State labor laws are quite specific about things.
I know that my employer buys millions of bottles of water per year providing free bottled water to its patrons. Its tens of thousands per day by my estimate, but dont have any hard data only long term ancillary observation.
The Democrats werent "reduced" to that. They just willingly and knowingly did it, because they thought that they could.
If they placed their own camera in public that did the face recognition in real-time with no storage of data then there wouldn't be a problem either.

Yes doesnt get enough credit for being so awesome.
Since when was Star Wars rebooted?

It turns out, the greens are terrible at planning.
In an attempt to plan for an apocalyptic event, they were were caught off guard by this apocalyptic event?
This apocalyptic event is one of the slowest ever theorized, so its impossible to plan for.
I voted Green.
Its your fault then. Thats why the Democrats hate you now.
...if only people would face facts and just vote for evil like they were told...
Its expected that you try not to say or do anything blatantly offensive
This just in... Altrag thinks that social pressure to do drugs is... and I quote... "blatently offensive"
..and he thinks this because he is just plain dumb
I was thinking the same thing.

Ignoring compiler warnings is standard operating procedure for any large code base.
Its Information Theory all the way down.
All hail Shannon.
