Just do what I do with my friends... Basically I have friends and relatives all over the world... When ever I go anywhere I stay at friends houses, and if they come to Perth, Western Australia they stay at my house, I have two spare bedrooms... But I don't mind sleeping on peoples louge room floor... It's a good way to relly see how people live in different cultures...
But maybe Dooku, really is a rouge Jedi who is double crossing the sith, All will be revealed in EP3. OR Maybe Anakin kills him which leads him to the darkside (if killing inocent women and children sand people isn't bad enougth) and becomes the new apprentice!
I made this comment to my wife as we left the cinema after AOTC "Jar-jar is the Phantom Menace, there is no way Padme would have given emergency powers to the sumpreme chancelor". Overall I though it was good, but it hard to believe that Jedi went along with the clone army that has shaddy past which they found out about.

Flying on Mars

You Americans all ways have had this big thing
about flying being the only way to get from
A to B. I am sure some type of high speed
train would be the sensible choice on Mars.
I have been to Japan a couple of times and there
you can get almost anywhere by train and quickly!
If I had a Commodore 128D with the monitor and all of the disks working, I could have some serious hacking fun.
Ah I remember the things I used to get up to with my C64 (One of my first hackable Christmas presents). Then when the Commodore 128 came out I did some pretty cool hacks to the Machines in display in K-mart. But not as nasty as what I did to the TRS machines in Radio Shack! Those where the days.
Maybe a G3 phone direct from Japan could be fun or going to Japan this Christmas might be fun especially in Akihabara.
Here in Perth Western Australia,
There was a case involving a man from a local Aboriginal Tribe being accused of Statuatory rape of another member of this tribe. This girl had concieved and bore a child and DNA evidence was used as in the prosicutions case against the man that the child was his. The cort found however in such a isolated gene-pool DNA evidence was not conclusive.
George Lucas of Lucas Films annonced "Technology has advanced so much in the last two years since Ep II, that not only can I replace all of the non human characters as I did in Episode II. But we can now replace all of the human character and simulate their voices using the new Computer Voice Synthesis. The only hard choice was deciding to whether or not to make the computer simulate the bad acting that we have had in the last two films"
I have been thinking about this for a long time actualy about we might be able to send our old PCs to Africa. Bundled with open source software.
We could have volunteers to colect and check out the computers making sure that they are alright and others who volunteer their time installing software. And yet others who will go to places in Africa and set the computers up for various comunities and teach them how to use them.
We could assist whole communities by enabling to connect to the rest of the world.
"Plug it into the wall with a magnetic clamp and watch as our home comes to life. In essence, the computer becomes the operating system for our house, and our house, in turn, knows our habits and responds to our needs."
Better hope that its not running Windows 2010 or we will be having real problems!
And also hope that it is not sending all of our personal information off to some marketing company. Imagine the spam advertising potential.
Sorry, I mainly use KDE so I don't follow GNOME happenings as much as I follow KDE. I thought Nautilus was GNOME's competitor to Konqueror. But from what I have seen of Konqueror it will kick Netscape's ass. Hey it even supports XML! I also found that KMail is pretty good so bye bye Netscape when KDE 2.0 comes out. Hey the way KOffice is going I soon won't need Star Office! So why don't we forget about getting ports of M$ trash to Linux? My only wish is that I could have a decent Japanese IME and Japanese word pro on Linux, then I could do away with Windoze forever (at home at least).
Why is everyone waiting for IE to come out for Linux. I always have found Netscape lot more stable on Windows NT 4.0 (I've hardly used 95 or 98)(Which I have to use at work 8) ) than IE. At home I run Linux Mandrake with Netscape (which is the least stable application on Linux) I am just wondering why people think IE for Linux is going to be any better. What about KDE's Konqueror and GNOME's Nautilus I am sure they'll be much better than IE or Netscape will every be for Linux.
I upgraded from 6.1 to 7.0 and found that 7.0 was even more stable. Somethings that used to crash misteriously didn't anymore, but a number of applications just wouldn't start up under 7.0 and it took me a lot of mucking around to fix it. I still haven't got xkobo to work and that one of my favorite games. I read up on what new in 7.1 and it's mainly improvements to the install program (like I really need that when I've already installed it). The other thing it includes is a Beta of KDE version 2.0 personaly I am going to wait until KDE 2.0 is released properly and then get the version of Mandrake which includes that.
When I was in university (in Perth, Australia) of the local students numbering about 120 there was only about 15 women, but of the overseas students (mostly from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia) numbering about 80 there was about 60 women. This was in an IT degree (not Com Sci). In my travels to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, I have found there is a lot of women working in the Computer Industry there. Does anyone from there want to tell us why this may be? Why aren't we attracting as many women into the Computer Industry in Western countries?
So, we have it M$ are trying to move into a new market and take over. Soon they take over the world. Imagine cars who's computers use Windoze and Jets who's infight computers use Windoze the world would be a disarter area. We must do something quickly, ah we shall install Linux on every computer, we shall never surrender until we rid the world of this evil tyrany of M$.
I used to use Slackware, but I couldn't get X working properly (Maybe it's easier now?). I went to RedHat 5.2 it was pretty good and stable. I then got the GPL CD for RedHat 6.0 and found it was pretty dodgey, so I went down to the computer shop and there was a RedHat 6.1 boxed set for $199 but the sales guy (who never tried any Linux before but wants to) said there is a new SuSE 6.2 just come in and it was only $99, but since at that time I had my heart set on RedHat I didn't want to buy SuSE. Then I went to another computer shop and found the Deluxe Edition of Mandrake 6.1 for $79 and so since I knew it was compatible with (and optimised for Pentiums) RedHat. So I decided to buy it, it came with Star Office 5.1 and heaps of other cool stuff and now I don't need windows at all (except at work because they make me use it 8( ). Anyway Mandrake rocks, but I don't think I'll upgrade to 7 just yet.
You mentioned the Boston Church of Christ, Definately a cult they have been in our newspapers quite a lot here in Perth, Australia. And I have met with their members while walking to the train station a couple of times and they are very pushy, I have a friend who is involved with them and I don't hear from him much any more, but he went from low self image -> drugs -> cult (a different one) -> depression -> drugs -> cult (The local Perth branch of the Boston Church of Christ)
P.S. I've never used illegal drugs myself, but I have a lot of friends (some of them geeks) who've really have screwed themselves up with drugs
P.P.S There is some good information on the net about the Boston Church of Christ, but I can't remember the url
I can rember hearing some interview with Lucas asking when Star Wars would be released in on DVD and he said not until the the standards of what Video/Audio formats to use for DVD are clear. He wanted to make sure that everyone who owns a DVD could watch Star Wars and at this time not all DVD players suported all formats.

Well 5 years and KDE is going strong. Keep up the good work!
Remember the search on Google for more evil than satan returned Microsoft.
After doing a contract for Oracle back in 99 I said that Oracle = more evil than M$ (belive it or not)
Now here's the proof the world needs to see how evil Oracle really is.
I quote from their article "Self-configuration. New machines, network links, and resources should be automatically assimilated. " - Empathsis added
"Resistance is futial, you with be assimilated!!!" - The Borg, Star Trek First Contact
Cat-related outages? I don't let my
cat near my computer. But I do get the daily
dodgy hardware random resets so I've switched
to ReiserFS.
BTW my cats name is Linus and he is smart and
he looks like a penguin

"Pay to play" - Sounds simular to what M$ are trying to do with their .net stuff. Yeah moderate this down for being off-topic or trolling.
