I wasn't trolling. Just this summer I set up a clean windows install with new hardware and after installing the drivers provided by ATI and rebooting, Java popped up too. Maybe that was just the CD version or whatnot, but it certainly DID install Java.
That, and the fact that the ATI drivers for windows insist on installing java and god knows what else on my PC is pissing me of. If I want java. I'd download it myself. What the hell does java have to do with graphics drivers?
And that most google searches for help end with instructions telling the user how to fix their problem or get their whatever working must also use precisely zero command line interactions, and precisely zero edits of obscure text files.
I didn't use linux for very long (two years total) nor did I do anything very complex, but every time I had a problem I just typed it into google, or copy&pasted the error message and the correct answer was near, if not at the very top of the search results. I did have to use the command line most of the time, but I was using Slackware, and it's not exactly known for it's user frendliness. So I used the command line. And what? It goddamned worked.
Now from the windows side: Half of the problems I encounter weren't problems at all under linux, and I can't find any info on how to deal with them. Did you ever try to associate a irc:// URL to a custom program for firefox2 under windows by hand? I finally had to search the registry myself, find some patterns and create an analogue entry. A program crashes for no reason? Tough luck. Searching the error message won't lead you anywhere for 90% of cases. Want to see.FLV file thumbnails? Regedit. Want to hide the "documents", "history" and "search" from the start menu? (who uses those..) Regedit.
Most of the things which you can customise under KDE effortlessly need registry edits under windows. It's as simple as that.
This is just an example for the scanner/printer I have, but are you aware that HP does come with bare-bones driver-only packages? Like this?
I absolutely hated the scanning interface, but then I installed this and use Irfanview to invoke the other non-twain interface which is quite decent compared to the other one.
This would also be incredibly disheartening to the investigators, whereas they used to just have to send the messages to decoders and translators, now that message is in a despicable photo or video that someone will have to watch, tell me that isn't going to leave a few scars.
So the terrorists should use the goatse guy for hiding their messages. He seems spacious enough.
I use my trackball (Logitech TrackMan Wheel) almost exclusively for everything except playing FPS games. It just fricking rocks. After fiddling around with sensitivity and getting used to in (one or two days) it's the best mouse I ever had. Never again will I run out of space or need to lift my hand and reposition the mouse.
Of course people who use mice to draw stuff will be somewhat crippled by it, as I have a little more difficulty when using it in order to doodle something quick in paint, but what self-respecting artist uses a mouse as their main drawing interface?
Yeah. We could end up with a LightNet consisting of billions of zombie light bulbs. Whole cities would flicker and display random spam messages using lights in skyscraper buildings and whatnot. Street lamps would display messages when viewed from the air.
The horror!
Dude. Here in Poland we aren't allowed to carry guns, and you pretty much can't get one anywhere. And guess what? The criminals can't get one either! The one's with very high criminal connections which are needed to get a gun don't rob banks or shoot people, because it won't give them any noticeable money. The only people who'd shoot someone are the common low-life criminal scum. And they just uses knives.
Exactly.
There was a warning popping up when I enabled javascript copy to clipboard saying that this site wanted blahblah. What's the effort in letting me control which site I want to give my location and which never need it.

And aren't those the target audience for this trick?
The vile game forced him to commit mass murder on unborn children thus damning his soul for eternity.
Why doesn't anyone think of the children? ~
British Isles? :P
This is the sad truth why more people buy consoles and more games are developed for them.
How does this differ from spoofing IPs? I thought one can't actually connect to another computer without leaving a trace, one way or the other.
And this will stop dynamic IP based attacks how?
They just never learned rules 1 & 2.
The fun part is that you can use the sandman perk to kill kids in their sleep. They won't die, you won't lose any karma, and you still get the XP.

And let's poke out every child's eye when they are born. 3D vision is a deadly asset.
You keep your shares in your bed?
That's easy. You just have to have your head up there.
I just don't understand it.
Both countries have rich and deep histories of democratic values.
What the hell? Wasn't the only time the UK was a democracy sometime in the 17th century? And it lasted only for a few years.

That's probably just with the crappier ones. Mine needs a 30 second clean once a week or so. And I use it daily for hours.

Do you believe there would be 10,000 users in a wingle WiMax coverage area?
10,000? I don't believe you could fit more than 20 people in a wingle.

How about instead of "useful tips" on loading screens, an ad would be displayed?
Exactly. There was a warning popping up when I enabled javascript copy to clipboard saying that this site wanted blahblah. What's the effort in letting me control which site I want to give my location and which never need it.
Because there aren't any mainstream porn games.
