  1. Opening new windows on Mozilla 1.2 Betas Start Flowing · · Score: 2

I love Mozilla. There's just one thing stopping me using it - when I open links from other programs (including the address bar on the Start Bar) it uses an existing Mozilla window/tab rather than opening an new one.

I just can't use a program which randomly overwrites my open windows.

well yeah, the people that bought cheap shares and then sold them at the top of the market got rich.

The people selling real products to the .com companies got rich (an awful lot of computer companies sold a lot of servers, really nice chairs did very well, etc.)

And choose PHP+MySQL, and who is going to look after it when you go?

If I already have 5 SQL databases, I can deal with it with one admin. Add a MySQL database and a PostgreSQL database and an Oralce database and suddenly you need a specialist in each one.

Let's see, I frequently use web based calendars, email, discussion forums, etc.

I use Livejournal, which has both a web based front end and a Web-API based one (which I prefer posting from).

I've communicated from a Windows based middle-tier to a tomcat web server using SOAP.

There's an awful lot of places that having web services is/will be handy.

You can call non .NET programs from within .NET. If you decide to use a library that only exists in Windows (like DirectX) or in Linux (like that version of GTK) then of course it only works in that system.

Once more of Mono is complete, you'll be able to do the whole of your program in it, including the libraries, and moving between Windows and Linux will be transparent.

How many hours of watching does that collectors edition get? Most people watch a movie 3 maybe 4 times tops. Add in a watch of the 4 hours of extras and that's 20 hours total.

The web is supposed to be platform-neutral, not built for IE.

The Web isn't supposed to be anything. It's not centralised or ruled. There are suggestions and many people issue guidelines, but nobody forces anyone else to do anything. If people want to produce IE specific pages, then it's their free to choice to do so. If you want them to do differently, it's up to you to convince them that it's in their best interests to do so.
