Or she's carrying her mace concealed but in a place that she knows where it is and doesn't have dig and she's practiced drawing it to the point of having muscle memory.
If you get the be the kung-fu master she at least gets to be competent with her defensive weapon of choice.
So what happens is you make a grab for her and then you get mace to the face.
Any weapon you don't have control of can kill you. Your knife won't magically fail to penetrate your vital organs just because you started out with it.
If your coworker came up and maced you unexpectedly your kung-fu would be as useless as her mace when you had restrained her, prior to her macing you in the face. Surprise is a powerful and, often the only, deciding factor in a fight.
*Thud* You're dead. *Boom* All the kung-fu in the world didn't help against the sniper you didn't know about a half mile off.
If no one represents Anonymous then everyone represents Anonymous. With no command and control structure to say "that wasn't us" anyone flying the Anonymous flag is (to use some tautology) acting under the Anonymous flag.
Not having a leader doesn't make the group as a whole immune from responsibility, in fact, it makes the group more vulnerable as it is entirely the members' actions that determine what the group is responsible for.
Don't agree with some action Anonymous has taken? Too bad. By being a member of the group you supported it. Once they pull something big enough to seriously annoy the feds RICO laws and their ilk are going to have a heyday.
Value is added by not requiring the addition of "brick bricked" to mean what the old "bricked" meant.
Look at "literally". Without some context you don't know if it is literal literally or figurative literally (or figurative literally or literal literally if you're of the reversed meaning crowd).
"6. There were no such things as guns in schools...if someone ever got caught with a knife, it was news for months in the city"
It was rather common for there to be guns in and around my school. The kids would bring their rifles or shotguns into the school (sometimes uncased) for shop class when they made or modified stocks and there'd always be guns in the parking lot during hunting season.
Almost everyone had a pocket knife and it wasn't uncommon to see a fixed blade knife getting stowed or taken out of a locker. The only weapon violence we had was a freaked out mother trying to take over a class room with a knife (whom was tackled by one of the football players in the room).
Fist fights were common, our school was rather notorious for that. This was before zero tolerance so no one had to "make it worth it" with a weapon despite their availability.
Do you complain every time cops apprehend someone instead of just shooting them?
Just because you have a gun does not mean you should always use the gun.
If someone, with no indication of their intent, opens fire, they have the advantage and no amount of 'holstered' firepower will stop that. Now if that person comes in brandishing their weapon giving the responding side time to react before shots are fired its a different story.
Also, a Democratic gathering is not one I'd be expecting a lot of concealed carry going on. The state may be gun happy but that does not mean all the supporters are.
I heard one's being worked on but they are trying to shave a few microseconds off the compile time for the built in.bf compiler and no one wants to make the UI.
I bet you expect clean water and food in your populated-beyond-self-sufficiency city and would bitch about a lack of it. You chose to live in the city, you should be happy dining on sewer rats and soylent green.
I'll second that. Having gone through a variety of actual PDAs I found that the best PDA turned out to be a mp3 player. Various purpose built PDAs from Palm, WinCE, and Windows Mobile and the Touch trounced them all.
Insulation is all well and good but you do have to generate some heat. If your house is bundled up tight enough to be warmed by body heat during -30F weather you're going to be having other issues.
Wasn't Tales of the Black Freighter all of 20-30 minutes? A 3 or 4 hour movie is hardly unwatchable in one sitting.
But I do agree it wasn't needed in the theatrical release.

The Appian Way needs a bit more decoration. Your contribution to the beautification of the Empire is appreciated.

They might be rich some day and they don't want poor people mooching away their possible but unlikely future money.
Spread the word. With these dangerous weapons lurking on every street no child is safe. The world must know.
I prefer the term "multi-ton murder machine".

"...they were talking about Native Americans and Redcoats and the frontier and muskets. Not concealed handguns in the middle of cities. "
Right, since that was just assumed to be normal for any gentleman to be discretely armed against stray curs and ruffians and their unsavory ilk.

But, in the name of Freedom, we must force every business to adapt to every customer's wants, whether it is profitable for the business or not!
If you don't force Ford dealerships to sell new Chevys you must hate freedom.
Not conforming to every customer's wants is censorship!

Probably the same coffee beside them as well.
At least they hadn't *PAID* any money to Biden and Hatch.
He certainly didn't do a better job at discrediting Julian Assange than Julian Assange did.
Did Amazon collect the sales tax and not give it to Texas or did Texas not bother to collect the use tax from Texans who ordered though Amazon?

You have a very familiar name, quoting style, and sig, are you related to Commodore64_love or Commodore6502 C_amiga_fan?
Can they eat cake as well?
