I'd imagine the cost involved in hosting their own advertising instead of using the large companies outweighs the increased exposure to the small number of internet users that actually block their advertising and probably wouldn't have clicked on it anyway.
I'd be willing to bet that the minute someone on an airplane sees you staring at an all white screen for any period of time there will be an Air Marshal tapping you on the shoulder.
And in Massachusetts, you can't get a license plate without proof of insurance. If your insurance falls off, your car is no longer legal to be on the road.
It's prohibited in most. Sure, if you get caught you get banned, but people still do it. If people didn't, you wouldn't have gold spammers posting every 5 minutes in different in-game channels. I tried out Rift and got my first gold spam before I reached level 3.
As for non-transferable, it just wouldn't work. You make money in those games by buying and selling virtual items. It needs to be tradeable.
Not only is the built in rendition of Android a giant pile of poop, it is a Jurassic Park, sick Triceratops, pile of poop. In fact, before I ran the OTA update, it would crash and Force Close programs *constantly*. The G Tablet lasted all of 24 hours in my possession before it had been rooted and flashed with VEGAn-Tab.
Though, I must say that service in VT has gotten much better. I never used to have any signal as soon as I'd cross the state line from MA. Now I get service in Northern Brattleboro, through Putney, then off and on (more on than off) all the way up to White River Jct. I was very suprised when I was cruising along and my phone rang. Granted, it's all along I-91, but when you're using a cell standard that differs from the local carriers, you have to hit the areas that have the largest population densities first.
I wish they'd spread out as much as anybody, but I do understand the reasoning behind it.
it will alter the performance of power turbines, jet engines, medical instruments, cell phones and missile guidance systems.
So does this mean that if I'm driving into New York while talking on a GPS enabled cell, the DRMP in my fancy new phone is going to detect that I don't have the right to be driving and disconnect my call?
The problem comes when people register a domain with the intent of selling back to a company for more than they paid for it. This caused people to register every domain they could think of, and makes it harder to find a short, meaningful domain.
IIRC, the rules were changed to try to help with this problem. If it is clear that a domain was registered with the sole purpose of being sold to a company for profit, you can lose your claim to that domain. However, if you happen to have a corporation's domain name and use it for another purpose, nobody can "take" the domain away.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I haven't kept up on things that well on the net in the last couple of years.

Talking on a hand held cell phone is what is illegal there, not the person.

Even Google eventually takes things out of Beta.
You mean the book he wrote almost 10 years ago now? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Art_of_Deception
I imagine he's going to continue on with business as usual.
This article is from 2009. Why is this now hitting the front page?
Taco leaves and the place goes to Hell.
Or, Taco leaves and decides to AC Troll.

My Google Profile consists of my name, e-mail address and an avatar of the "Awesome Smiley" for GChat. They can mine that all they want.

I do believe that being a satellite means that it is not "in" the world, now doesn't it?
They seem to make enough of this crazy noise on their own without the help of a Speak and Spell.
Besides, it's not likely to be part of basic cable. If you have the channel, you're paying for it. If you don't want it, don't pay.
Just an opinion based, not on fact, but the greedy nature of executives.

Good!

He had an irregular heartbeat and their solution was to stop his heart, then use a defribulator to kick him back into gear. (It worked)
Scary. I can't imagine being the first patient to volunteer for that one.
For the cost of medical school, they had better at least include the batteries and maybe a spare rubber band.

The real issue is that it's SuSE 8.1, RH 8.0 and Slackware 8.0. Linux itself is version 2.x.
Other distros include Mandrake at 9.0 and Debian at 3.0
The WWW is a privilege, not a right. (Just ask Kevin Mitnick)
It's just like driving. Are blind people suing car makers for not making a car that is operable by the blind?
Though unformatted, they are following the guidlines which would allow a blind web user to read the document. Lots of nice, easily parsed, plain text.
Slow connection was why I bought a couple Linux cds. I paid a rediculous $2 for each at the LinuxWorld Expo I think.
This type of price gouging has to stop if they ever want me to pay for a cd again.
