    You *might* have a point about the connectors, but then again, that applies to many, many electronics manufacturers. You are *not* locked to iTunes, neither for the store or for updating your iPod. Spin your FUD elsewhere

    I know an Canadian artist who is also signed to Warner/Sire in the US. Her latest album was a bit of a departure from her last one and Sire was too scared to support it in the US so she signed a distribution deal with a indie label for this album. Currently this album is #2 on the iTunes Pop chart and #18 overall.

    tl;dr - Record labels are run by idiots who only want to release music for the lowest common denominator.

    I'm not in total disagreement with you, but another factor to consider is the ease at which we can move from place to place. Someone could contract a disease half a world away and spread it before anyone even knew they were infected.

    I find it interesting that they targeted a barely used domain instead of going after http://www.atari2600.com/ which actually sells merchandise or http://www.atariage.com/ my guess is that they're going after the low-hanging fruit first.

    Incorrect. The incident you are referencing took place in Oakland, not SF and it was over two years ago.
