    That's a pretty low bar for "success". I personally would reserve the word success for companies that have adequate security measures to prevent customer data from being improperly accessed. If any exist.

    QAnon was started as a goof on 4chan, later moved to 8chan, and then spread to Reddit and YouTube when they realized they could make money off of it. Only thing driving it now is the lulz and money from the stupid, gullible people that bought into it.

    Not sure what the point would be to censor absurd content like this. Rational and sane people can immediately recognize it as bullshit, and the rest are a lost cause.

    Not a dopehead but I do keep some unusual hours. It astounds me that even though I live in a "college town" my only options for prepared food between the hours of 1 and 5 am are McDonalds and an all-night diner a few towns over. I've omitted the all night convenience stores because I'm not suicidal.

    ... stronger anti-piracy measures for a hard 25 year limit on copyright term. We can't have our law enforcement people chase down every copy of Steamboat Willie.

    They created the problem and now have the audacity to bitch about it. So fuck 'em I don't care how long copyright terms are. 7 years, 25 years, 10 billion years - I'm still not in compliance.

    At that point you will have the people rich enough to live an extra fifty years and everyone else. And those super rich people will work to mold the society to suit them because their horizon is longer than ours.

    If that means they finally treat climate change and environmental destruction as the serious problems they really are, then I'm all for it.

    I am no fan of c++, and I agree it is terrible. But, creating yet a other language sounds a bit over the top.

    They also claimed we know it did not ask, but now we all know different, don't we?

    We know what an Amazon spokesperson said happened, implausible as it sounds. Seems to me if this thing was close enough to record their conversation it was close enough for them hear it ask for confirmation, but that doesn't seem to be addressed anywhere.

    I think it's primarily driven by landlords. You don't have a cockroach problem. It's a gastronomic opportunity.

  19. How about I don't do that. Pretty sure there are no nude photos of me and if there were no one would want to look at them.

    It really takes a special snowflake to pose for nude photos and then get upset when people see them. It must be more fun to get angry than to exercise good judgement and not take the pictures in the first place.

    I bet you could involuntarily extract a password this way - one symbol at a time.

    I honestly don't most of my internet passwords and certainly not my encryption passwords. They are generated on demand by an algorithm. One step removed. I know how to generate them but not what they are.

    In case anyone is wondering why I went to the trouble, it's because I don't care what the passwords are, only what they do (control access to information). I don't need to memorize passwords, and it was fun and easy to code.

    I would tend to agree with you had that been the only source of information I have, but it isn't.

    I'll give you two analogies and see if you can noodle out where I'm coming from. I'm guessing you probably can't, but here goes.
    * It is my experience that antibiotics are helpful to take in the case of bacterial infection.
    * It is my experience that after throwing a heavy object in the air it reaches a maximum height then reverses course and returns to earth.

    Aside from my own experience, I have other reasons to think that scientific principles are at play in each case.

    I'm in the Linus Pauling camp of ingesting what some people would consider massive amounts of vitamin C to prevent or ameliorate symptoms of viral ailments. I swear by it based on my own experience. Your mileage may vary and I'd recommend researching the issue before deciding if it's something you should try.

    And yes, I'm aware that some people consider him a quack but I'm not here to debate the issue, just sharing what has worked for me.
