Yeah, but think about this: Why would they pull the plug just because the lawsuit is pending? If they thought they were innocent they would continue with the project and prepare as if the jump was going to happen. They are no where near complete with all the preliminary jumps and the actual jump could take place...so why stop gathering data now? I would understand if the "main event" was supposed to take place tomorrow...but thats not the case....it seems to me they may be pulling the plug in preparation for a guilty verdict.

I could agree with that, but it depends on the tattoo. The poster obviously isn't someone who's going to have one of those sweet barbwire arm bands tattooed on him. However, I would never agree that you aren't dignified, or think less of yourself because you chose to get inked. The fact is, your body is a meaningless bag of flesh that will be worm food before long, so in my mind, why does it matter what you put all over it? - but thats just me.

Man all these people are hating for no reason. Get a tattoo - if you're worried about what will happen in the "professional" world, then just get a quarter sleeve so it can be covered up if need be. Remember, you will have it forever, but your body will also be rotting in the ground one day. I have 2 dinosaurs tattooed on my back and chest - everybody asks, "why would you ever get a dinosaur tattoo?!" - because they are AWESOME. If you want math shit tattooed all over your arm - do it - screw everybody else.

No decent high school teacher would not allow a kid to turn in homework that's not in digital format - lets be honest...so wheres the huge problem here?

Very true. When I visited China we visited both Chinese and American factories, and the conditions in the pictures were much better than some of what I saw. I only got a chance to visit Beijing and Shanghai, and one would think that the factories there would have better conditions...however, I did not see that to be true. Taking into account the wage, and the location (presumabily the interior of China) of the factory - I would say the conditions are good. Prices in the interior are lower, and this wage will let workers save money in the long run, either for university or their families. Egocentric viewpoints are a thing of the past. Try and remember The Prime Directive - Jean Luc would be proud.

  9. Who Cares? on Will Adobe Sue Apple Over Flash? · · Score: 1

Apple has always had a closed platform, has always kept anyone from building a Mac, installing their OS, and now everyone's surprised they want to keep Flash off? The truth is that Flash is a resource hog, and the way its implemented in most sites is even worse. Apple is pushing for a new and better standard, and doesn't want to deal with John Doe who doesn't know how to properly embed a flash video in their site - I don't really see a problem with that.

We are forgetting a very important part of the formula here: the parents. In many "at risk" districts teachers spend more than half their day making sure the kids aren't hungry, are behaving in class, have their homework completed, and have the supplies that they need like pencils. Why is all this happening? Because the parents are not involved in their kids lives. Either they simply don't give a shit, or they are working more than 40 hours a week just to put food on the table. No matter how good a teacher is, if the kid's home life sucks, or they are more worried about if they are going to be eating, they will never succeed.

The search and seizure you are all thinking about is only inside a car, or motor home licensed for road travel. In that case an Officer may search a "closed container" to check for dangerous objects etc. without a warrant. Otherwise, a closed container MAY NOT be searched. A cookie jar inside your house may not be searched without a warrant because its contents are not in the open, thus a "closed container" and thus you have a reasonable expectation of privacy. The same thing applies to your computers, they are a closed container and need a warrant to be searched. In this case, even if your phone is in your car, where your expectation of privacy is diminished, your phone may not be searched without a warrant because it cannot contain anything dangerous, unlike a suitcase in your car may (which may be searched if its inside your car). A little commonsense goes a long way....
