IF (big if) you have a WinCE Smartphone, Microsoft TAPI (Telephony API) is your answer. It can process incoming and outgoing calls in amazing ways. A good place to start may be here. I put on my robe and asbestos hat, preparing for the flames...
... but I live in latinoamerica (Argentina) and at least 50% of the computers come with some form of Linux, and its even announced like some technology great and new. Only Compaqs and high-priced PCs come with a original copy of Windows. It`s not a joke, i gonna take a picture of the ads and post somewhere. Linus gonna piss their pants!
Little off-topic, but anyone with Linux, a nvidia card and x.org should test xcompmgr, it gives you hardware-accelerated translucency, ala OS-X. It looks gorgeus, and works with gnome and kde. A must have! Disclaimer: Iam not related in any way to xcompmgr. Just a happy user.
The Gray Team are a bunch of guys from a *insurance company*...WTF??? and they finished in 3rd place!! please sombody give them the price or something, they earned it more than any university.
You got to try Soma FM, the Ambient Music and Groove Salad and the best radios of all, with great (known and unknown) artists. Soma comes by default on the Winamp online radio list. Some way to play this on Linux? (Totem and XMMS cant handle the stream very well)
I'm from Argentina, and here we have nearly the best phone tecnology, part beause it's so new, part because the outrageus price the companys (telefonica and telecom) charge to us, makink an already poor country, poorer.
Pascal is far from dead. In my work i can recompile a big (and i mean BIG) delphi project in less than 1 minute, with a budget machine. One C++ project normally takes hours to compile... Pascal is blazing fast, has 95% the speed of C and it has range checking,so forget about buffers overflows. The productivity is orders of magnitude over C++ (Well, for me at least)
Microsoft got a "deal" with our Mother f^D^D^D^D^D^D^Dminister of economy, and the same plan, will come with windows XP home pre-installed. Result: the machines will cost 150u$s more than in Brazil. (They are lousy celerons) By the way...I am a high-payed programmer, my salary is about 800u$s, even I can't afford Windows. Posting from ubuntu:)
Almost all of the supermarket and consumer stores sell pc clones with linux in them. Adding windows would double the price. They are using Xandros or Mandrake.

Makes you think...a magnetic field that big in a ship sure would cause blackouts as it fly over a city...sounds familiar.
Don't worry, this is Slashdot, Taco will dupe it and everybody will know then.
Stop fixing the rats dammit!, they gonna kill us all!
Here in Argentina, there are Commodore brand clone PCs since over two years ago (and pretty cheap they are), take a look Here, so, wtf is this news?
Nobody has tried XFCE in (K)Ubuntu? IMHO it looks beatiful, and the default theme is better than the gnome or KDE one.
I got a AMD 3000+, running non-stop at 40 C, even with Quake4. I have picked all three :)
