I spent 4 days downloading the letter "G" - over 29GB of data. Spent 4 days rsync-ing it back up to the archive server. It's nice to know that a bit of history has been saved. I can't judge its merits - to me it was a bunch of silly videos, but who am I to judge...

Are people peeing all over themselves over this tripe?
Show me "real" content and I'll watch - commercials and everything - really this is a "non" issue.
I went to ABC, selected an episode of "Lost" and was shown - or I should say they tried to show me - 4 episodes of Desperate Housewives. WTF? If I cared that much about some crap, I would watch it. Keep it, keep it tightly clenched between your manly buttocks, Powered Toast Man.

Just for my education - How do you do that? I've been a geek all my life, into computers for the last 20 years. I am a geek, but I don't happen to know that particular bit of CL voodoo. Help me Obi Wan.
I mean if, in your opinion, knowing that arcane bit of info is what makes me geek, then by all means enlighten me.

I remember in the late '80s / early '90s. I used to get my pr0n (600 baud - thank you)The executable would always say "waiting for sparkle". I do remember that the quality of the video (remember folks this was 286 territory) was very good. Actual video, not pixelated bitmaps.
    I wonder...

Why not a USB type device? How about just a "smart" card? I saw the Sun demo at a government conference, all Java, all just a hub. Totally transient, anywhere you go, there you are.
