    I would be really pissed if I were stupid enough to vote for Obama. "Change you can believe in"?
    Not only has he supported most of Bush's programs and policies he had added to them.

    It must be noted that if I were stupid enough to actually vote for the most liberal member of congress running as a conservative, I would probably be to stupid (*blind*) to understand this.

    I owned 2 Fords, and the mechanics I would sometimes goto would just end the list of problems with, "But you know, it's a Ford." I have a Honda now, and I can tell you, I'm never going back.

    Let me guess, now they just end the list with "bend over and hold on tight, this is gonna hurt!"

    I found solace in drugs, booze and hookers. This worked out great for a while. After some time (about 10 hours) it started affecting my job and personal life. I have since been fired from job, so the stress is gone. The bad thing is that now I am addicted to drugs and it burns when I piss. Oh yeah, my left me and took our kids to her mothers.

    Well, some people do believe that. I am going to apply the same thinking that is applied to Christians. I am going to find a small group that has radical views on this, in this case those who say that they have been "probed" by aliens, and apply as generally as possible.
    So, I guess you're saying that you've been probed by aliens.

    Well, using this logic.... the only reason you have to believe that life was created out of simple chemicals is pretty much the same. I mean, you (to date) have not proven this. So I guess you just read it in a book and all your friends and family believe it, so you do too.

    Frankly, this whole "hide behind public property" that the government uses is wrong.

    Sure.... Until about 1000 or so people come to your neighbor's house to protest them. Then, I bet you would go crying to the government to control the protest.

    There was a documentary on PBS about the rise of computers called Triumph of the Nerds from 1996. It showed how MS stumbled ass backwards into a lot great situations. Also showed how some companies completely misunderstood computers and showed a painful lack of foresight. Xerox, anybody?

    I really doubt that. I have seen a hugh reduction in NNTP (usenet) speeds.

    I don't actually see a proposal for a meaningful gun ban in those links either. The closest I see is the admittedly stupid (and poorly named) Assault Weapons Ban, which would ban some ad-hoc class of rarely-used weapons.

    Um, huh? An assault weapons ban is a gun ban.

    Hardly every law-abiding gun owner in the country would be inconvenienced.

    Define "assault weapon". This can (and has) changed. Like when they said now sniper rifles need to be banned. They defined "sniper rifles" as any gun with the ability to hold a scope. That would inconvenience every law-abiding gun owner (and potential gun owner). You give the govenment far too much credit in regards to this. As soon as the ban was put into place in the 90's the first thing they started working on was to expand it. The governemt has given me no reason to expect any less this time. The "assault weapon" part of the ban is just to get it in the door. Once in, it will expand.

    Change: Taking soldiers from a relative safe (Yes, much different scale then say, the US or Europe) to a more heated battle. Way to support the troops!
    Now they can know what it was like in Europe in June of '45... "Good job men, you defeated Germany and secured peace here in Europe. All that is left to do now is to keep the peace. By the way, we are going to send most of you to the Pacific where the battle is in full swing (and your chance of death is much greater again)".

    i don't understand why many of these countries (the US included) don't make a provision where an absent vote equals a no vote. this would put a dead stop on laws 'sneaking' through in this manner.

    Then it gets flipped. One a resolution that is popular, they will wait until most of the "yea"'s have left the building to vote. The best way to do it is to only have votes when a certian percent of the body is there, somewhere in the hight 90's.

    Seems like a win win situation for the public.... but then the politician would actually have to do their job...Ohhh! now i get why this system's not widely implemented. i just had to talk myself through this one.

    The last thing we need right now in the U.S. is politicians doing their job.
