  1. Re:"Winner?" on Apple Newton vs Samsung Q1 UMPC · · Score: 4, Interesting

Well the apple screen is clearer, sharper, more vibrant when the other model has no battery and isn't able to compete. The devices are all about utility and ease of use. You cannot use something that cannot be counted on to work. The time of 2.5 hours seems insanely short to me, I couldnt use that during a ten hour work day as a tool. If its really really cool looking, that isn't going to help.

  5. laundry done? on Your Washer is Calling and the Dryer is on IM · · Score: 1

I have a mailroom scale that wouldnt stay calibrated that I have wired to my laundry room. I have a whirlpool duet stacked system and the scale sits out of sight on the top. I have the scale wired to a linux box via cat5. When the laundry is done jabber complains to me (with snooze). When i actually do get around to doing the laundry (moving it from wash to dryer or out of dryer) i just need to hit the 'zero scale' and the jabber will shut up.

Really works great, makes for a lot of unfolded laundry :)

I cannot see this being for real, like so many other f1 rumors during the season. Single supplier brakes and tires have been talked about quite a bit. Anything, anything at all to do with the engine seems very far fetched.

Side note microsoft's has botched a lot of the honda/bar electronics when two way telemetry was allowed involving stalling cars.

By these people's same accounts the iPod is overpriced, overrated, the music format is sad, and itunes store model is flawed. The sounds of people complaining that people dont need all that space and the the battery life is terrible and locking people into the apple hardware ... yawn.

I will agree that some of the ipod product line is a little too much. A few models have been released perhaps that are confusing in the marketplace -- that photo one was a mistake /me thinks.

The photo aspect is daring, already the the photoblog / podcast stuff seems intersting from what my existing subscriptions have yeilded.
