Actually, NH has neither an income tax nor a sales tax. Clearly, we make this up with high property taxes. People bitch about it all the time, but NH doesn't have a budget problem because property values are relatively stable (at least, they aren't going down at this point; in some places the values are skyrocketing). Without this budget problem, the state doesn't have to make some of the tough decisions of some of our neighbors, MA especially.
I disagree, because not every state has a sales tax. When I went to school and had stuff sent there, sometimes I would be charged sales taxes, even though my billing addy was in a state with no sales taxes. Needless to say, after the initial purchases, these companies no longer saw any business from me (unless they were the ONLY option).
Then how come it says "The People"? And what about the Dredd Scott decision (1840s, I think, that says if blacks are allowed to be citizens they would be allowed to own guns)? And why can't we say the SCOTUS is wrong? For instance, no matter which side of the abortion issue you're on, they've been wrong in the past 30 years, so why not now with this issue?
>>Hardly. For a first offense, the absolute statutory maximum penalty is 5 years in prison. That's a serious sentence, but a far cry from "rapists, drug dealers, and murderers." Don't exaggerate, okay?
I think he means the felon category, meaning he would no longer be able to vote or own a firearm(not that in this particular case it matters to Russian citizens).
My question, though, would Microsoft make Windows Free as in speech or beer? I'd be willing to bet some cash that the correct answer (to this and many other questions) is beer.
Though it's somewhat different, the Phalanx system can lock on to incoming missiles. Instead of one shot, I know it does something into the several-thousand rounds per minute range, but I understand it to be rather effective.
I'd say we're more on the conservative side because of the fact that the Gov is a Democrat. Of course, after going to school in MA for four years, I've very glad to be back here where nobody's trying to save me from myself.
I'm not trying to troll here, but I have an honest question.
Can't it be said that many countries will remain poor and on the back burner for many years because they have little natural resources and a small population? Don't you need a somewhat large population and a good supply of materiel to get things done? I realize that this isn't exactly in line with IP, but I don't think that's a pressing issue for a subsistance farmer thousands of miles from most of us.
But, just seeing that, finally got me off my ass enough to subscribe. I tried it yesterday, and it worked for a little bit, then crashed. And it took forever to load. However, I can now look forward to breaking away from the EULAs from Hell.
Gentoo has a ports-like system. I just switched last night into today. Security isn't too bad either, because you have to actively turn things on, instead of turn them all off.
It should also be noted that the "white" and "colored" drinking fountains were, for the most part, government sponsored, while the ADA is the government sponsored part. I also agree with what you said that blind people truely are different than someone with sight, while there are no (real, but perceived) difference between races.
I think it was the lack of competition in the Mac arena that left Motorolla high-and-dry when being compared to Intel now. I know you can't just measure MHz to MHz, but competition in any arena is better than none.
I thought they said they went bankrupt because by the time they released a Linux game, it had already been out for Windows for a while and was simply cheaper to buy it for Windows at that point. If they were able to release at the same time (not their fault, as part of my understanding), they may well have no gone bankrupt (or lasted longer).
Isn't it what all women should be aiming for? ;-)

What about states that have no sales tax? If I buy something from, say, Florida, would Florida charge me a sales tax?

It also applies to hookers. Don't learn the HARD way!

Well, I'd be willing to bet the cop guy pulled over Jobs but miraculously "gave him a warning." :-)
But remember, these dumb kids will be the ones that your kids can grow up and hunt :)

What did NASA think of you using their servers to store the source code to the NIC drivers you made?
PS: Thank you very much for them!
Eventually, EQ support will get better. I have serious doubts that the EULAs for MS will.

But, can you become physiologically addicted to riding roller coasters?

I went to WPI and living in Worcester has taught me that it's only a matter of time till someone steals the plane and sells it to a chop shop.
Obligitory /. effect comment, but I thought Ars could handle this kind of traffic?
>>This lawyer is both stupid and stubborn which IMHO is the worst kind of lawyer.
Is there any other kind of lawyer? (We will, of course, exclude the hot ones on Law & Order)
