There is absolutely nothing illegal about those apps. Senators stating they are illegal is an outright lie and violation of the 1st amendment. DUI checkpoints are in fact public knowledge because the public must be informed the checkpoints are in place, because they can prevent people from getting places on time. The general public is usually informed by putting in a newspaper. Because it is public knowledge, the apps are a extension of freedom of speech. It would be the same as an application that allows you to read newspaper articles on sports.
Funny that Lower Merion is about 30 minutes from where I grew up and my former high school was violating privacy as well through technology. According to reports I am hearing from my family and friend who live in the area there school employees making fake Facebook accounts to befriend students to look for incriminating photos. It seems that many schools forgot that they are there to teach the students and think it is there job to police and discipline them for their activities outside of the classroom. As technology grows so will the number of those who abuse it.
China got caught with their hand in the cookie jar and immediately creates a story about the US playing foul on the internet whether it is true or not, the only reason it was released by them is to avoid attention. China is not going to be able to avoid this they have been in the midst of internet controversy for the past few years from Green Dam software (Great Firewall of China) being created from stolen source code, to hacking Google and other countries to this newest event. They need to figure out if you start poking around in someone's backyard who has more advanced systems they are going to find out soon or later.
The government is becoming big business's puppet. If there is a law exists that pervents big business CEO from making bank, the law is changed or removed for them. *cough* Financial controls in the stock market *cough* Reminds me of Jefferson's quote before the Revolutionary War...
"And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms."
You are aware that nmap is a network scanner, meaning it depends on what the user has set up in the firewalls in terms of open ports and what services are running on those ports. Also nmap works off of known exploits, no one will argue that Windows has more exploits written for it than Mac OS X. There are definite holes in both operating systems, but Windows is exploited more because of the usage. In the business world, very few companies have their employees running Macs.
Don't act like it isn't possible it most definitely is possible. But no one has put the time in to write anything before because the user base is so small. As it begins to grow so will the number of exploits, however books are beginning to be put out on exploits in Mac OS and obviously the exploits are starting. I agree that this is completely user stupidity, but it slows that exploits are now being created to target Macs.
I always found it amusing that Mac Users consistently told how secure their Macs were and how they couldn't get viruses or malware. I found it amusing since I thought Mac OSs has had security holes in them for years, but no one had an interest attacking a small user base. It seems as though those users and Apple are starting to eat their words since when Linux and Windows release patches for security they aren't defeated an hour later. Apple however should have seen this coming with their growing user numbers.
I realize that Activision is partnered with Blizzard and have felt the success of subscription based gaming, however they highly over estimate how much PS3/Xbox gamers love Call of Duty and how different it is from WoW. As a avid PS3 gamer who owned Call of Duty Black Ops and previous Call of Duties, I can honestly say if this is what they go to I simply won't buy the game since there are other first person shooter military options such as EA's Battlefield and SOCOM which is a 3rd person shooter made by Sony in coordination with Zipper. Activision is comparing CoD to WoW which you can't WoW has the market cornered which is why a subscription works, CoD doesn't, and I was planning to buy the new Battlefield anyway since the graphics look better. As for others when it was discussed last night while I was playing online with my friends, everyone agreed on the fact that they weren't paying the money and would buy a different game.
I mean that show a smart and sound in investor. Let's buy a share in a team that is a money pit that will give me no say in the operations. He must really be in touch with the current times, because the Mets haven't made any money in years.
I would listen to Kaminsky, the man saved the internet from DNS vulnerability just a few years ago when he discovered the flaw in DNS and came up with a patch and solution to the issue. So I guarantee he knows more about DNS and security then Congress and the greedy and annoying RIAA.
In all reality, I doubt either country would be in position to fend off cyber attacks. I mean the US government tried to go after Anonymous and ended up having the security firm they hired get a huge black eye and multiple government websites getting smacked up as well. In terms of China, they have attacked multiple countries, but it seems when they get hit themselves they stop what they were doing and being denial of the facts.
China has all these laws which they enforce against Google and other American companies, but they think that they are above the law. They believe what Nixon said in the Frost/Nixon interviews, "When the president does it, it's not illegal." The Chinese government thinks that the laws don't apply to them and can do whatever they want, while at the same time they enforce these laws on others. It is completely hypocritical. China doesn't deserve Google.
The people in the pentagon guiding those missiles that kill a bunch of innocent people and George W. Bush who sent thousands of soldiers to their death as well cost thousands of Iraqi civilians their lives for no reason, but his personal gain in history has no such black spot on his record... ooo that's right dogs' lives are more important than American soldiers and Iraqi civilians.
If you give me a chance to evaluate your life and you mistakes I guarantee I will find a few. Just like you would with me. As Winston Churchill one said "All men make mistakes, but only the wise learn from them." So if he learned from his why should he continued to be punished?
I disagree with that statement. This reminds me of the whole Micheal Vick ordeal when he signed with the Eagles. The man spent two years in prison for his crimes and many people are still punishing him for it. I believed if you paid your debt to society than why should you continue to be punished? Everyone makes mistakes in life... so if you are perfect then throw the first stone.
I have never hit a woman, but I will punch her in the face if I ever saw her. She is probably one of the people who defaulted. We helped big business when they are the cause of the economy going down the drain. Yet we neglect the future of the nation in helping them. It is hilariously biased against the youth. In all purposes it is agism at its best. All of the congressman went to college on interest rates of less than half of what I am paying, yet they have the balls to raise our interest rates while they are giving billions to car companies who are in trouble by their own doing. The students are in debt do to the fact that college costs are going up at an audacious rate. I am graduating from Penn State this year, when I started going here I was paying $16,000 in four years it has gone up to $22,000. That is $6,000 dollars in 4 years, which is outrageous.
I mean they have a hard enough time finding a date being obese, but now it's out there that they are getting dumber faster as well that is extremely unfortunate.

Amusing how my comment starts an interesting debate and points out facts, but it gets a Troll tag they obviously did not notice the sig.

Stick it to the man!
They needed to stay up some how... it just wasn't the most legal way.

From now on it is going to be no I'm right because I am more evolved.

Your post is just like those miserable psalms, always so depressing. Now knock it off!
Don't post anything on the internet anywhere on the internet if you think it is a risk to you or if you don't want anyone to see it.
I would like to see the results of this in quarterly periods over the next year to see if this is actually a viable cooling resource.
