What I'd like to be able to do is connect to the net from my Touch 2.0, using Bluetooth to access my cellphone. That way I can get online even when there is no Wi-Fi available.
I was also looking forward to the release of Spore, until I heard that they were using SecureRom.
I'm not installing an app that causes that much headache just for one game. I might look at it when it releases on the 360, but the bad reviews I'm seeing are making it less likely. And if they hadn't used SecureRom, I'd have bought it on release day, without waiting for reviews.
I don't know how long it's going to take for publishers to understand this simple truth:
Copy protection pisses off the paying customer, and makes the pirate laugh.
Let me make that clear for MBA's - the only people inconvenienced by your protection are the people who paid for the game!

We use AT&T (formerly Bellsouth) and their servers are not fixed according to the 'dig +short porttest.dns-oarc.net TXT' test. I contacted their NOC about the problem yesterday and got the following reply:
"Patching for these servers are scheduled to begin next week."
So, major vulnerability, two weeks advance notice, exploit code released - we'll get around to it later.
It is RC3, for the Linux version at least. I downloaded and it's an exact match to firefox-3.0rc3.tar.bz2. The About dialog did not show RC status in RC3 either.
>Konsole in KDE 4.0 is orientated more around keyboard shortcuts - which I think makes sense in a terminal.
The keyboard shortcuts are welcome. I use the button for convenient access to the 'Shell at Bookmark' list, where all my servers live.
Glad to hear that the missing bits are being added back in. I live in Konsole, so it felt like I was suddenly using a Swiss Army knife with several blades missing. I'll be holding off on F9 until 4.1 is out.
This was my first look at F9, so no bugs logged yet.:-) It's always a bit awkward logging a 'preference' bug i.e. "I don't like new feature X, make it work like it did before..."
I am a little surprised that Fedora went with 4.0 as the only option.
I'm a sysadmin and use KDE all day long, with Konsole as my terminal. I tried the preview release of Fedora 9 and found that the new Konsole - has less features!
The buttons for quickly closing/opening a tab are gone. Right-clicking on tabs is gone. The ability to send input to all tabs is completely gone, not even accessible through menus.
These are features I use every day while working on servers. KDE4 adds a lot of eyecandy (and a Vista-style 'start menu' - ick), but why remove useful functionality?

Unicomp's new keyboards just don't have the right feel. The keys are a bit off, and the TP response is different. But I've had good luck with their repair services for the old keyboards. I sent in one of mine with the same symptoms you're describing, and got it back a week later, good as new.
The cost was ~$70 with shipping. They replaced the trackpoint, the mouse buttons, and cleaned the board. http://pckeyboard.com/repair.html
Worth it if you really like these keyboards. I use them at home and work.

I've been carrying this combo for years. All the pockets I need, tough, doesn't scream 'STEAL ME' like some of the bags mentioned here do. Fits under an airline seat. Has a chest and waist strap for long hikes through airports.
Not cheap, but what's your gear worth? And made in the USA.
I don't know if they're getting far above retail value, but it's definitely a selling point. When I had a 2nd Gen up on eBay, I got lots of prospective buyer questions: "Does it have music on it? Does it come with music?" When I replied "No, the HD will be reset before I ship it", I never heard from those buyers again. When I checked the eBay listings, other iPods with music were selling for more than I got for mine.
I had the same complaint. Take a look at American Scientist (http://www.americanscientist.org/). It's published by Sigma Xi, and is much more in-depth and detailed than SA has become.
You may not have expected that message to be posted to SlashDot, but you _DID_ put your "I'm not working with Corel any more and I'm thinking of suing" message as the first item on your site (technocrat.net).

Bruce posted this on his vanity site (technocrat.net). It's now been removed, but the lead item there was him calling for a lawsuit.
/. picked the story up and now Bruce wants it all to be forgotten. Well, grow up. You can't go around threatening lawsuits and then say you were only kidding. Don't blame/. for repeating your hot-headed announcements.
Call the police on ESR, call a lawsuit on Corel, Bruce really needs to relax a bit. The Linux community does not need the bad press this sort of shooting-before-thinking creates.

The servers are responding again, and mozilla.com gives me this button:
* Download Firefox - Free
3.0 for Linux i686
English (US) (9.2MB)
but when I click it, I get a 8.7MB file that is an exact match (diff) to the RC3 I downloaded last week.
Intentional? Mirrors that haven't updated?

Many thanks for the response.

Silly boy! Why interview people or seek facts that conflict with the spin you're pushing? Next thing, you'll be saying that news should be impartial!

Exactly. And I never gave permission for my name to be used in a /. poll anyway :-)
