Yeah, I'm a little upset I missed it. I figure of all places Slashdot would have an article on it, but looks like it didn't. That figures we can get 101 bitcoin stories, but miss this.
Why is that a problem? Its your right to refuse to load content on to your computer and it's their right to refuse to show you their content. Kinda like the old antispam saying "my server my rules."
I don't drive, but the insurance for my wife is a little over $300 a month and she's never had a single accident, DUI, etc. I wish it were $500 a year.
RPM isn't part of the Debian package manger. RPM is the package manager for Redhat and Redhat derivatives. RPM originally stood for Redhat Package Manager.
If he really wants to know how to do this he can get a hold of me. Last I checked HE would sell a 100/meg line for $1 a meg totaling a whole $100. Depending on his infrastructure the whole thing could cost less than $300 a month after a server purchase. There's also data centers in LA that will work out deals with smaller clients to pay monthly on servers till they own them out right.
When you're doing a targeted attack with an 0day in something like an ms office product it's pretty simple to get into the network. For example:
I send a resume to them that's not really a resume it's an 0day in word or adobe. This will get me into HR. From HR I then send a list of xyz from a valid and known HR email address that would be of interest to some other manager in another department. I now have an in HR and the other department. I setup filters on the HR ladies computer so she/he won't see any replies to that email. I then send a sorry I didn't mean to send that yet follow up to any replies thus terminating the conversation about said spread sheet, PDF, or what ever.
Repeat until you have everything you want. Once you have the systems you want just sit there and monitor everything and you'll have all the designs, source, etc.
I know it might sound far fetched, but I saw something very similar happen at a maker of guitar peddles. They hacked the email server and then did the above and got repo access to the firmware source code and where gone before anyone knew what happened. As far as I know they never figured out who did it, but it was suggested that it was a foreign company.
I'm very happy with them. So happy I have several thousand dollars worth of domains for various clients there. I use to recommend godaddy to all my clients, but their past practices made it so I could no longer recommend them. I have clients with domains at other registrars(including godaddy:( sometimes you have to do what a client wants regardless of how you feel), but namecheap is by far my favorite.
Something I like about namecheap is their API. It's simple, to the point, and full featured. If you have a need for API access you can't go wrong with namecheap.
CSS is for prima donnas and Flash is for artistes. PHP is for chatterboxes and Perl is for psychics. Javascript is for the clinically insane, and Ruby is for hipsters. Drupal is for geeks and Ajax is for nerds.
Good web developers do take that into consideration. I've had both lead and non-lead positions and one thing we always did was check the actual size of the complete page, load times, and several other things. I've even go so far as to check sites on a dial up account to see how they preformed. Sometimes it gets a little nit picky, but if you care about the user experience it's something you have to do.
It's pretty easy to kill someone with a knife and someone who is hell bent on killing you will have it in you before you even see it. Then again I might be giving to much credit to random thugs.
the day I'm forced to. This sounds like a really really bad idea.
Who gives a shit? The charity still receives money they didn't have before and it will help lots of people that really need it.

I haven't shopped at Tiger Direct in a long time, but I'd pass on any company that asked for my SSN as well.
Sounds like your friend was on a team of developers that weren't very good.
The cost of living is completely different than Denver.
I haven't seen that file in years and years. Thanks for the post :)
He's referring to contact spam. That's when someone takes control of an account and spams all of the contacts.
Yes, a clone is better than the real thing!

Don't worry, they'll get their virtual cards back. They just sent Penny to go kick Sony in the nuts.

Namecheap is accredited and not an Enom reseller.
unmod....
Where did all the zeppelins go?
Orgrimmar
It's been theorized that Google does take load time into consideration.

I'll stick to plain-jane HTML, thanks.
Then you're an idiot still misusing html tables.

When does Scot season start?

Yes, getting stabbed is so much better. Regardless of what you ban people will be able to kill each other.
