...that someone found and interesting chemical compound is the atmosphere or some other evidence of microscopic life on Venus, instead this guy claims he sees a "black flap" in pictures from the 80's. The article itself doesn't even have pictures with red circles around these flying magic aliens for me to gawk at and laugh about. I'm not only questioning Slashdot, but the original story, why would anyone care?
Like the history now being created of seizing private property without due process that may or may not actually reside outside of American sovereignty?
Well if it means anything, all PVP is completely voluntary in DDO, most of what you can pay for, is either time saving items (exp percentage bonuses) or content and the fact that every dungeon is instanced means you can simply play how and with whom you please.
Exactly, Google is grand standing against the much less menacing Australian Government. The only reason pulled out of China was a) they were the kings of the internet like they are back home and b) an attack that came from China (potentially).
PR move in my mind
Agreed, you have to take. Even if they weren't planning on paying you for on call duty. The key word above is "new" as in "a new manager". Sounds like you are either going to become useful in the way this new manager wants you to be, or you will quickly become an example of the fact that this manager is willing to let go people who aren't following his plan.
It'd be nice if they were irrelevant, unfortunately all they are managing to do is drive up the cost of everything the government pays for and shield incompetent and even dangerous employees working for the government while providing no protection for the american worker from big business.
Or at least that is how they work in America, that and they bury Jimmy Hoffa in Giants Stadium.
This would probably be handled exactly the way it's handled if somebody's drinking gets in the way of work. Treatment if it's a touchy-feelie company, termination if it's a draconian company, or indifference if it's an average company. To be honest most of your argument would be identical if you replaced "smoking pot" with "being a sober idiot". I don't think anybody would suggest we can really legislate idiocy with any hope of success either.
Fallout games have always had a 20-level cap. This is the 3rd fallout game in the series. You'd expect its game mechanics to follow the other two, even if it is in 3d and not 2d isometric.
I would expect it to follow the previous game mechanics. Unfortunately the other games do not all cap at twenty. I remember clearly going well past 20 in FO2 after discovering the in game strategy guide.
However, even for the "most hated" award, it's a tight race between ME and Vista. I'd say the hatred of ME is more intense, while the hate for Vista is more widespread.
I don't know, YOU seem like a nice enough guy. Though your self important need to have references to YOU in all caps is a little annoying.
Excellent point, maybe you shouldn't call a game without the chance for a failure a game at all. And while you (or anyone for that matter) "playing" without risk of failure doesn't make you a bad person, it does strongly imply that you are not that good at video games. I think this topic is more about revealing psychology thru games then people seem to realize.
"Occam's Razor" is a useless tool as it relies on a mind to subjectively decide what is "likely" and than declare it as objective.
Being a skeptic requires you to be skeptical of everything, otherwise you are just a different type of adherent.
It's easier to drop the hammer on college kids for downloading media online then it is to hunt down people exploiting masses of small phish. Besides IAAs have deeper pockets and are much more influencial than a amorphous blob of (unknown) online victims.

Toontown is the brain child of Jesse Schell the same guy who freaked everybody out with his games in everything speech is it not.
I'll admit I read it that way too
Was I the only one who expected this to look like a racing pit-stop (screws being driven into a rack mount like lug-nuts on a new set of tires)
Well I live in the Philly Metro area, I'll keep you in mind if it doesn't pan out.
Why anyone would pick Philadelphia as a launch city is beyond me. That's like recruiting beta testers from the Special Olympics.

I can assure you, that you will be disappointed in all of these things if you given them.

Difference? I don't know, I've been ducking trial at the Hague ever since I sacked Carthage in Rome: Total War
How do you say "amateurs" in Mandarin?
...and of course the companion software that will produce false positives on infect computers.
And then you have the slashdot headline which sounds like the setup for a 4chan joke. Flying Car It flies from London to Africa

Overrated, really? I thought it was hilarious even if it was crude and cynical.

'We don't want you to feel that you are being interrogated.' Yeah that might interfere with your interrogation.
and they are putting fluoride in the water.
The advertisement directly under this story reads "HERE'S TO LESS DROPPED BALLS. with Microsoft Visual Studio" you can't make this stuff up.
That would be doomsday.
