Not sure how this is on topic, but to bring it so. Japan is having this problem while the US is not, thanks largely to brain gain from places like India and immigration from Mexico providing a robust blue collar work force. Sure that pisses off Lou Dobbs but it will keep America afloat. In all likelihood there will just be an evaporation of the native American middle class (no not Cherokee). America has been declared dead due to worse things then outsourcing, a momentary credit crunch, and ill advised war (read: moneysink) and survived handsomely. For better or worse the American Hegemony will survive for sometime longer if only for the fact there isn't a clear successor yet.

I think most of us born from 1965 and 1985 have a pretty good case against George Lucas for retroactively ruining our childhood. Star Wars Episode 1 thru to Indiana Jones and Aliens, now this nonsense. Strangely enough the 5 minute shorts on Cartoon Network about the Clone Wars were actually entertaining, and didn't seem as geared to children, and they had that Samurai Jack animation style.

Anthropology disagrees as to the most likely result. Most studies suggest a large population of "excess" males leads to an increase in violent and generally anti-social behavior. This is due to these males losing the calming effects of a family to support, as well as males inclined to start families taking more risks to get to a socio-economic position where that is feasible.

While I'm not a big fan of Chinese Human Rights, I have to agree with you in general. I don't understand the fear of China in the US. Perhaps its because I myself am a tad bit of a Sinophile, but China isn't talking about destroying America, in fact they seem to want to have closer economic ties to the US. There are problems with China no doubt, Tibet, their designs in Taiwan, but most Americans seem to knee-jerk fear/hate China, and I can only attribute this to xenophobia or jingoism. For the record I am also a proud American.

In theory DHS could seize copies of the bible as "violent jihadist materials". The Old Testament with all of it's old school "fire and brimstone" God is pretty violent and Islam respects the Old Testament as the holy, though corrupt, word of God.

For extra irony points, a paper copy of the Bill of Right could be seized as it without a doubt contains information in an analog form. Taking away your rights in two forms at once, now that is multi-tasking

I was using "girl-friendly" as a euphemism for boy hostile, Hence the quotes, but my brevity is probably to blame for any misunderstanding. I apologize. My opinion as to why it is hamstringing is this. Firstly math proficiency in (America at least) has been declining sharply, so relatively speaking girls may not be getting better at all at math, boys may just be getting worse.

The gap between girls and boys has not narrowed in language however why is this. My thought, there has been no effort to teach English (for example) in "boy friendly" ways. No competition based learning for Dr. Seuss. Why are little boys not entitled, to the benefits little girls are? I'm sure most of us have seen the latest new math classes with cooperative tables for children to find an answer. Why not have the inverse?

And Truth once again dies an ignorable death at the feet of Political Correctness and White (Male) guilt.
