That's another thing, probably the worst injury I had from a head on smash (previously commented on). Leg was pressed hard on the brake at impact. I don't know if it was squashed on impact or if it instantly bent but it did hit the steering column hard enough for my knee cap to crack the steering column. I went to hospital and they said it was "badly bruised", wtf, it was swollen the size of a basketball:o That and staved thumbs from gripping the wheel....
I was also in a crash driving with hands at 10 and 2, with a good grip on the wheel. Crash was head on with another car, I couldn't use my thumbs for a few days because I gripped the wheel really hard just before impact and both hands were thrown forward into the dash (Had dashboard control bruises on knuckles for a while:) ). Airbag didnt seem to have any effect except it saved my good looks* (Numb nose but that's to be expected I guess). I now drive with hands slightly lower than 8 and 4 but always keep my thumbs on the outside of the wheel, kinda gripping the wheel with palms only.

Version 0.0.0.0.1 of something more complicated than "Hello world" released along with huge warnings that it is not ready for production and people are shooting the entire project down. It has had 4 people working on it, now they've stuck to their word and opened it at the time they said they would. Why is this news surprising or bad? Why is it even news?? People have found gaping holes, said people will close gaping holes - that was the whole point of it being open wasn't it?
“If you've been on the Diaspora mailing list, there are people who are clearly not security professionals who are asking each other, 'OK, what do I need to do to get this running because I hate being on Facebook,'” he said. “They are going to get burned in a very serious manner very, very quickly if they actually succeed in doing what they're trying to do.”
I installed Kubuntu 10.04 too, first as an upgrade from 9.10 which didnt go too well. Then re-installed from clean. Major show stopper for me was the fact that I couldn't log out without the entire system freezing and forcing a hard reset. I cant "just don't logout" as suggested by someone in #kubuntu as me and my girlfriend have separate accounts and use user switching. I tried for 3 days to narrow the problem down, different graphics drivers, manually setting xorg.conf, various other things but no joy - back to 9.10 for me, its rock solid.
I also installed Ubuntu 10.04 just to see if the problem existed there too and it did, 3 days down the drain, disappointed is an understatement:(
2K Sports kept the contest open for two months and couldn't believe what they saw when they reviewed the time code on McGilberry's perfect game. Was it really possible that a gamer threw a perfect game in the first 24 hours the game had come out?
Looks to me like they kept entries then reviewed them once the 2 months were up.
An Oregon man named Bill Carlton settled in for a marathon session in 2004, which ended in failure when his machine broke down after 27 hours of play. He had scored more than 15 million points, placing him 15th in the record books.
Oh dear lord - and I thought it was bad when my mouse packed in half way through a CS match!
You could try getting involved with some existing game engines written for Linux/whatever else. Learn the engine basics then get into the guts of it. Check out Irrlicht Engine for one, last time I was there it seemed a friendly and helpful crowd on the forums.
I just want to see the mice with breasts

My shower needs 45 amp cable and fuse. Yes it is scary replacing the shower with such a large power cable next to a water pipe.
My tool hasn't been in use since I got married.

I just sent wave after wave of men until the killbots simply reached their kill limit of 999,999 then swept them off the floor.

So you'll be safe if you cross the DMZ dressed as big bird or am I missing something?
