The capability is there from the get go, but there is a set of files, IIRC, that describe each carrier and what features to allow. With a jailbroken phone, you can change that and allow tethering. This is why, say, UK users can tether but US users cannot.
You could already do this with a jailbroken phone; I did it just for kicks a few times. I didn't keep doing it, because who knows what would happen if they caught me torrenting things with that connection.
What helped was cognitive behavioral therapy. That really turned me around, and now I'm back in the fight. It's been an amazing transformation. Of course, it would be even more amazing with a hot older women in my arms.....
They can be both. I've made comments like this in jest, but there have been times where I've been depressed and made them while being halfway serious. Having suffered from depression for about a third of my life, there have been times where I truly felt undesireable at any level. The depression is (mostly) gone now, so it would be safe to assume jest on my part now, though.
There's that and the fact that there is a huge patent minefield out there. You have to be huge, yourself, in order for it not to destroy your business. How can smaller outfits release their own, more open devices? The patents kill them before release, locking them into inferior technology or forcing them to pay tribute to the patent gods.
I believe those trolls are called Poes, but I only hear that term used for Christian fundies, not those with other right wing views (e.g. return to a gold standard, something you'd probably only hear from a Ron Paul rally; there wouldn't be much "Christian nation" there).
If you think those industries are unregulated, then I would like to see what you consider to be regulated. I mean, once you have governmental control over the money supply, how much a bank can and cannot loan, etc., it becomes pretty hard to call it unregulated. Poorly regulated, perhaps, but not at all left to its own devices.
Funny, I gave one of my friends a copy of HL2, because I had a second one from buying the Orange box. I did it straight through Steam, no customer service needed. Perhaps you haven't fully investigated the GUI.
In the days of yore, where we still had to have physical media, it was much harder to survive without a record label. They had the cash, not only to produce your albums and advertise, but to get the media manufactured. With the rise online sales, you no longer need the middleman to get your records pressed; the cost to host an album is very low per customer. The middleman is starting to be cut out, and if he doesn't reinvent himself, he will fail. Personally, I think the way forward will see the artists keep copyright but share revenue with music stores in exchange for the publicity and bandwidth.
It depends on what you mean by capitalist. If by capitalist, you mean the current (and past) crop of business leaders and politicians, then you are correct in most cases. Those on top want to remain on top, and they will use whatever language available to maintain their position. Of course, the word has become distorted and made to mean so many things, just like the word socialism, that I find the term to have little value.
Yep, that's totally true. Confidence is one of the keys to attracting women. As someone who suffered from depression and then recovered, I can tell you the change in female interest has been extremely noticeable. I haven't gained or lost any weight, changed my looks, or done anything superficial, but the interest has certainly heightened. I do joke about how we nerds never get laid, but, yes, we do get laid, and we do get women.
Oh no, they've discovered IRC! Now all my 1337 |-|4>021|\|6 will be discovered! Seriously, does anyone who has computer knowledge look over these scripts for sanity?
I can see it now, StarCraft2OnlineDating.com. Amongst the typical profile details, there will be options to choose a mate based on what race they play as, how far up the ladder they are/have been, and what custom maps they run. You can exclude matches that use a different race by default. What you're looking for will will be described as such: Pylon looking for additional pylons (male for male), Zerg Queen looking for more pylons (female for male), and Pylon for Zerg Queen. Yeah, I can really see this taking off. Hmmm.... Well, I'm off to register the domain!
I had to use one in 2003 or so for a school project, and some time after that for XP to get some drivers. Those are the only times in recent memory that I have had to use one.
You forgot the beowulf clusters of Cowboy Neil, you insensitive clod! Of course, I have to ask myself, "Does it run Linux?" And is it powerful enough to play Crysis?
Suffer from internet addiction? No! I *enjoy* it, and you'll take my shiny inter-tubes away from me only when you pry them from my cold, dead, cheeto-dust covered fingers!
Current court cases have made farmers pay if GM crops pollinate their crops, even unknowingly, so making the kids pay is just a few steps away.
Yeah, darn that competition! How dare they implement the same concept as me! They oughtta be in jail!
...you'd have a fleet of cloaked Klingon warbirds circling the Earth?

In a sense, some patents are recipes. Or, in some cases, the vague concept of a recipe.

It was just a leak that the CIA, Mossad, and KGB managed to fix. Wait! There was nothing to see, now move along! He is alive and well!
Just point them to the man pages, and they'll have all the command line flags figured out in no time. Now, figuring THEM out, on the other hand....
5 minutes? Boy, that's a long time! The 1 minute in space is perfectly fine for me!

Their side projects give them chances to datamine users and provide more targeted ads, improving their bottom line.

They needed to spawn more overlords. And coders...
