So why not define it as a certain amount of curvature - say the mass needed to bend a light beam in vacuo by some measurable amount
That would mean defining the kilogram in terms of another unit. There is some interdependency in the definition of base SI units, but I think the idea is to avoid that where possible.
I noticed the same thing. If you scroll around you'll see quite a few cars parked in the same or nearby spaces between the drone/street view photos. How long until we get "Google Live View"?
I'd like to see a URL shortening service that doesn't automatically redirect you, but rather displays a page with the destination URL, which you can then review before clicking. I'm sure there are such sites, but I've never seen one. My guess is that the extra step involved prevents them from being widely adopted.
Those of you who think nobody really backs up their CD/DVD/BlueRay discs for legitimate reasons must not have young children. You have no idea how quickly a team of three year olds can extract the "frisbees" from their cases and distribute them across 3,000 square feet.
The Corn Refiners Association calls itself a "trade group". Basically it is a propaganda and lobbying machine. Increasingly and accurately people are realizing that corn syrup, specifically high fructose corn syrup, isn't exactly the healthiest thing you can feed yourself and your children. It's in damn near everything that, Americans at least, eat today. It's cheap to produce and appealing to the taste buds. The CRA seems to think that if they change the name of the product they represent, we'll all forget that it's making us fat.
"The airport doesn’t have separate boarding arrangements for private-jet users". Person A is boarding a private jet and therefore can carry whatever the hell he wants. Once past the security checkpoint person A hands off ninja throwing stars to person B who boards a commercial flight.
RSS is not dead and dying. One particular RSS reader is dead and dying. An RSS reader aggregates and allows you to preview the content published to many different websites, all from one place. If your like me, and you read from dozens of websites every day, you understand why this might be useful.
I don't think TFA is saying that. It mentions that "those trials" are coming to an early end. Which is appropriate. Obviously you want to work out the kinks before trashing another multi-million dollar UAV.
If I follow you correctly -- your assumption is that due to their economic status black males tend to live in larger and less diverse groups than white males. And as a result they are more likely to have similar interests. Ok that makes sense. And unfortunately you are correct that statistically, white males generally find themselves in better financial situations, which does give them more flexibility when deciding where they want to live. But, last time I checked, upper middle class white males (and/or females) don't often locate themselves in culturally diverse areas. They tend to stick with their flock, just like everyone else. It's human nature. As a result the geographic distribution factor is probably not as significant as you might think.
I followed that map once. It lead me out of the basement, into a fabulous relationship. Through childbirth, into a mortgage, and right back into the basement.
When Google Buzz was introduced I had the option to opt-in to the service. So I did. And as it turned out, all of my contacts, who had also chosen to opt-in to the service, were able to "buzz" me. Or whatever lingo is attached to this service. And they didn't, and neither did I. And we went on our ways, existing in each others contacts list.
We tried a variety of kid-friendly gaming/computing toys with both of our children. Basically, at 18 months, if it wasn't something they've seen mommy and daddy use, it wasn't interesting. I suggest an old laptop. Attempt to teach them how to use it properly, but understand that they'll probably just mash the hell out of it at first. By the time they're 3 years old they'll be little computer wizards, trust me. My three year old daughter can navigate her gaming websites (Nick Jr. and PBS Kids) just fine. My five year old son, now in Kindergarten, can sound out words and type them on the keyboard better than he can write them by hand (I'm still not sure if this is a good or bad thing).
All Glenn Beck wants to do is speak to us about how immigrants are destroying the United States, and tell us that Muslims should move their prayer centers far away from important landmarks. It's just a coincidence that he'll be preaching from the pulpit previously occupied by Martin Luther King Jr. And it if happens to be on an awkward date, he's not responsible. Damned liberals and their control of the media, and now the internet. Always standing in the way of progress.
The problem with that is the software that does the re-imaging requires network services among other things. In other words it's running on top of a platform that can be rooted. So while you think you're doing a complete re-image, that may not be the whole story.
What is meant by "the sum of the reach of all sites using that icon"? Are they simply scaling icons based on Alexa rankings, or is there something more profound going on here that I'm missing? Six beers says it's the latter.
I like to think I'm pretty good about recycling. It takes a decent amount of work, separating, washing empty bottles and cans so they don't stink up the garage, crushing, tearing down boxes, etc. I'm happy to do all of that, but I wouldn't be surprised if more than 10% of what ends up in my trash bin is recyclable. Accidents happen, sometimes I miss things, and every now and then I get lazy. Don't fine me for slipping up every now and then.
I want my John Carmack back! Remember the days when there was a clear 3D god to worship? And he wrote engines for the PC. And they rocked. What happened to all of that?

Does this mean I get to relive playing quakegl on my Voodoo for the first time? Sweet, I'll finally own you LPBs.
idkfa. "I Don't Kare For Article".
Those are the ones we had before "flat screens" right?

As an ESDF righty, I feel your pain. I might be in the real minority here.

A tip of the hat to you sir. Now someone go ahead and mod this redundant. It was worth it.

I have a suspicion that assuming "real" games cannot be delivered to a browser is a lot like saying 64k ought to be enough for anyone.
http://royal.pingdom.com/2008/11/14/the-worlds-most-super-designed-data-center-fit-for-a-james-bond-villain/ Dimly lit, lots of blue and green accent lighting. Lots of organics, running water, etc. And keep it a few degrees below normal room temperature.

And I posted as AC on accident again...
