To further that sentiment, my principle (ignoring for the moment the documentation requirements of any particular employer) is:
1) Document in the code
2) If you can't convey meaning through the code naming conventions, Document in the comments
3) If you can't convey meaning through a comment without taking up the entire screen, reference a diagram
4) If you can't simply and completely convey the information with a diagram, write it in a document
5) If you can't define it in a document, it is time to go back to earlier phases, like requirements, analysis, or design.
Obviously this list would be different if I didn't write code for a living, but I'd still use the simplest way possible to document my work and still convey meaning.
If it is easy and gets looking "good enough" it incentivezes people to drop their steady monthly income stream(subscription fees) for an ad based model(something that is currently tanking), then you are threatening their business model.
Preview and submit are too close together any time earlier than coffee time.
They get money from cable/satellite companies for the privilege of carrying their content. Hulu (in their mind) is meant to be competition for bit torrent not for cable.
Giving out the passwords could also lead to jail time. My personal password ties my account to me personally. Apart from all the potential abuses of international trade laws that could happen from my personal email if someone else had access, what if any one of those people put child porn on a rival's computer because they now had the keys? What if it was my computer? These people were willing to not only charge him in court for doing his job but also threw him under the publicity bus too.
By now? If she'd been in seven hours it would be amazing...
But more seriously wow. I had only heard about this in passing, and didn't know the details. What is an IT person supposed to do? They hire him to be in charge of the network and then ask him to hand out root passwords to anyone important in the city government. At my job they make us swear on everything holy to not give our passwords or pins to ANYONE and probably would have us shot as a penalty if they could get away with it, but even without those restrictions I'm not going to hand out my password to my boss, my boss's boss, or even the CEO of the company.
Hmmm on one side I hand over responsibility to an entity that I give money to work for me but doesn't, on the other side I hand over responsibility to an entity I give money to work for me but doesn't. Decisions, Decisions.
and it looks like finding a level surface to put a chair on might be difficult.
Much less farm equipment or even farmers. Apparently the farm of the future will be farmed by the newly sentient chimpanzee...
And then throw that "25 things people don't know about me" thing that was going around a few weeks ago into the mix. Now they have that information, too.
I wonder what the marketers will do with:
14) I will go out of my way not buy anything because of unsolicited marketing.
Well the good news is the people in these poverty stricken countries will now be able to sell medicines to us rich Americans, by undercutting the costs of the companies that sold them the medicines in the first place. Except the medicines will just be seized by the governments in the first place and they will make the profit.
Take it back. Tell them it didn't work, maybe something is wrong with the disk and you would like an exchange for the same game. Usually if they don't let you return it you can still do an exchange for the same product if the original is faulty. If not then you shouldn't buy media at the store again.
Sadly those are in short supply, even the companies that hold my money for me and give it back to me later with a little extra for letting them borrow it...
I didn't say it was a bad thing. They have worked out a nice niche but the Apple stores are alot about image otherwise they could have just pushed for shelf space in the big boxes. Microsoft isn't going to get an image boost for throwing out some retail centers, at least not if they are primarily for pushing the OS.
I get Mac stores since they sell their image...oh, and proprietary hardware. But a specialized Microsoft store, even though I like some of their products, doesn't make sense to me. I can pick up Microsoft software at nearly anywhere already, and some of it that I don't even want comes on my computer every time I buy a new one.
What were those?
At least it won't be the worst moments from the action figure line, like Cobra Commander being eaten by the neighbors dog, or loosing my favorite figure in my friend's massive sandbox, or accidentally dropping weapons down the vent in my bedroom...
That and what the article mentions is that the city has already spent over a quarter of a million dollars installing the things in the first place. The article is not clear but mentions having to repay some of the money, maybe it was obtained through federal funding?
Yes, this has been eroded badly away in recent decades, but it's still true.
Recent decades? It was the reason for the Civil War. The confederate states said the federal government didn't have the power to tell the states they had to free their slaves and left the federal government. The federal government then proceeded to show the confederate states they did have that power. At the end of the war the original intent that states be even semi-independant from the national government was lost. But hey, slavery was evil, so it was all good, right?
We all now know what the ... step is: Extortion.

And apparently 3 for you for a humourous (and sad) comparison.
So every phone from your cell provider has a USB or mini-USB connector for charging? Must be nice.

Maybe you need more? A thousand? A million? I bet you could hire some people in China to set up accounts for you.

I'm curious how they can be sure it is you in the picture given the look of the full costume.

Someone has found my old roommate. Nick is that you?

So who foots the bill for someone exploiting an apache hole? Does it come out of the support fund? Sounds like a very dangerous precedent to me.
Good news they will be unemployed Saturday...

of game designers or open source enthusiasts? You must have a different group of those in your area...
