I don't know about you guys but if I am having a panic attack the last thing I want to do is talk to anyone. You just want to get out of where you are, fight or flight. Having a robot asking me questions about how I feel really wouldn't ease any of my anxiety. Although a nice feature would be for the robot to dispense some xanax.
A good intro class would be "Build your own wireless network card"
Professor: "Ok all the course materials will be available online which you can access using the campus' wireless gateway."
Student: "But how Can i get to them if I dont have a wireless network card?"
Professor:::evil grin::
Time to go out and buy a Geforce 4 and a 5.1 sound card along with some 5.1 speakers and crank up the bass and enjoy what looks like to be an amazing game.
I personally find programming more comforting in my house. I can sit in my own chair and lean back and prop my feet up on my desk and not deal with a chair that keeps my back perfectly straight for 10 hours at a time. I have my computer setup the way I want it with no admin restrictions set forth on me. You dont have to worry when you accidentally click that goatse.cx link that everyone will look at your monitor. Also nothing beats shitting in your own toilet without worrying if your boss is in the stall next to you when you have a case of the runs.
Maybe you should of asked for the features before implementing the system? And once you had all the features setup then you could go and offer a subscription based service. As for features to offer I cannot think of any right now but i am sure a bunch of people out there can. But if you did have features before offering the service you would see alot more than 2% of the community subscribing.
Well this prolly wont get read cause its so far down in the comments but here it goes...
Slashdot has a wonderful opportunity here. They have a huge user base and could do wonders with it. By coming out with a subscription based system that offers nothing but no ads there is no reason for anyone to subscribe. They completely blew an oppotunity with this one. If they had planned out a bunch of features that subscribers would get before hand and had them all planned out and ready to be released when they announced their subscription plan , people would be subscribing. Only 2% of the community has subscribed so far, shouldnt that be telling them that they are doing something wrong? Come on guys you can do better than this. Hire someone using your ad money to help write you up a nice business plan.
What if Slashdot just setup a system where they said if you click an Ad that for the rest of the day the ads would not appear. I am sure no one would have a problem with just clicking one ad a day and then closing the link and have an ad-free slashdot.
For the past day or so I thought my radio was broken in my car cause stations that would normally come in clear were mixing with other stations and fading in and out. I guess that explains why...

I just bought a jeep liberty, what problems did your friend have with his?
After reading a review like this I can't wait to go out and buy the game myself and try it out! The Graphics sound intense, the gameplay sounds incredible and the way the game is shipped is simple yet powerful.
"I was thinking about installing webcams in the home sometime this summer, but the remote security aspect never occured to me. "
hmm.. so what what other reasons would one have for installing webcams around their house... Slashdot not paying you enough? Time to start experimenting with the internet and it's uses?
If instead of using it as only 1 or 0, why not have the color of the pixel represent a value too and allow for more combinations. Could store more data through different colors representing different meanings
"Penalties include up to 12 months in jail and fines of $15,000"
pssst.. 12 months = 1 year. Penalities include up to 1 year of jail time. Come on now.
Problem with printing circuits on paper is that they will generate alot of heat and cooling the bitch will be hard. Water cooling a paper board and now your left with a soggy board. People will be having fires in the computers everywhere!
I think im gonna go do the same thing and hope my school finds out about it and suspends me for it so I can sue their asses and make 10k and buy a nice new computer. Wahoo. And I owe it all to you slashdot.
Shutup, ATI Sucks, Matrox blows, 3dfx is dead and until Mircosoft comes out with a video card that renders the BSOD in realtime with fancy lighting effects , im not buying from the competition!

You first must click the Hack the matrix icon on the left hand side of the main page, then click the keyboard twice.
