The story is a troll, all the win95 code died with Windows ME. In case you haven't realized win2k is based on NT4 which never had 49 day uptime bug.

  3. Retard on Windows Upgrade, FAA Error Cause LAX Shutdown · · Score: -1, Flamebait

How big of a retard are you? The win95 bug had a patch available and I really doubt it shows up in win2k. Our win2k servers at work run for months without issue. You're quoting the submitter and the slashdot janitors ooops I mean "editors" didn't bother cleaning it up. Win2k is based on NT4, hardly close to win95.

Welcome to surround sound. Maybe its me but I liked the old style sound before they switched to surround. The dymanic range is too great. The quiet parts are too quiet and the loud parts are too loud. Luckily my tv has an automatic volume limiter which does come in handy. The shitty cable co. can't regulate the volume across all their channels.

Back when 80gb drives first came out maxtor still offered a 3 year warranty. I bought one and it lasted a little over a year, until the *click clikc click* head noise started. Ok get an RMA and send it back. Over the course of a few months they sent me 4 drives all of which lasted from months to minutes. One has a new retail kit that the diags claimed were bad out of the box. I didn't bother sending back number 5. I bought a new seagate and its been perfect ever since. Fuck you maxtor, I buy nothing but seagate here and at work.
