Verizon will sell you a dry loop but you must ask for it. I already have dsl and phone service with them and wanted a dry loop for a voip phone. What their site doesn't tell you is that they will charge a $199 "rolling truck" fee for running a new line to your address. Hardly worth it if you ask me, considering my old line handles dsl just fine. You can't tell me theres no other way around this.
When linux runs all of my windows games flawlessly, has support for any $20 802.11g card, and lets me use my sound card without dealing with.diff files and make config(menuconfig)(xconfig) etc.
In 1998 a jihad was declared against everyone who is basically non arabic. People have been fighting in that region for thousands of years, this time its spilled across the ocean.
and might emit a few microwatts at best. The plastic case should stop that. Microwave ovens on the other hand are just a modern RF oven. You dump 800 watts into a cubic foot steel box, something is going to absorb that energy and convert it to heat.
Features I'll never use. Way to go. Whats all the big fuss about tabs anyhow? They don't seem any different than managing seperate windows. How is that such a huge improvement? How about dragging the taskbar to the top of your screen instead of the bottom, instant tabs.
Let my wired subscription run out and then received a debt collection notice for $11. Called the 800 number and there was an option if you let your subscription lapse. Haven't heard anything since then. Sounds like some sort of scam to me. Send out fake debt letters and hope people will just pay the $11 instead of dealing with it. Fuck you wired.
Have an old Ultra 1 doing firewall and light server duty for a DSL line. So far its had zero hardware issues and everything has worked. Wish I could have said the same for NetBSD. It locked up randomly on the same box.
I haven't used OpenBSD in a few years and was really impressed with their rewrite of packet filter. You linux folks should check it out.
Engineers found that people actually prefer a small amount of even order distortion compared to unmeasurable distortion. Having a slight bit makes the music have a "warmer" sound. Pure digital is cold and somewhat harsh by comparison. Zero distortion does not equal the best sound. Theres plenty of speakers with a flat frequency response that sound like garbage compared to something with some spikes or dips. I find it amusing that it takes a DSP chip with a half million transistors and 1000 lines of code to come close to the sound of a vacuum tube. Ask the guitar guys about tube emulation, its no good.
We sure will miss you dozen or so linux folk and your strange ogg files. Lets be generous and say linux makes up 10% of the desktop market... Still nothing compared to 90% of the content on windows boxes. Stick with freenet.
Redhat 5.2 and Irix 6.5.11 are vulnerable to remote root exploits. Wow old unpatched software has bugs, imagine that. You can't blame microsoft for people not upgrading.
Trust me, there won't be a draft. Nobody wants it. The bill was started by a democrat and is "dead" in the senate because no one will even think of sponsoring it. The military doesn't want people forced into a job they don't want. How well do you think those people would perform? The public doesn't want a draft, and neither do any politicians. And for the people who say Bush is sending your sons and daughters to die; The individuals who signed up for the military know they can be called into action at any time. If you don't want to be in Iraq then you shouldn't have signed up. Sounds easy enough.
I suspect this bill was started just to try and hurt Bush later in the election. The media picks up the story about a bill for a draft and the public goes apeshit.
Help I did type Y work for years and now I'm doing type X. Things are different and I don't understand, why!
Because I don't need or care for a PDA.

How many of them are part of a uniformed army? None. Yup they really follow it.

Ran NetBSD for 3 years straight on an PC164 motherboard. Worked flawlessly until I moved and ditched it for a hardware router.
Getting a phone that lets you record your own ringtone? I signed up for T-Mobile and the cheap Siemens phone lets me do that.

digital=loss
Digital is a representation of the original source material. Its only as good as the sampling rate.

Whats 80,000 compared to their total user base?
Who is at fault here, the company for paying low wages or the people for accepting them?
Don't forget the CRT you're probably looking at now, or the TV sitting in your room.
The latest version of IE6 on win2k is not affected. Updates for win2k are still being produced, whats your problem?

Its going to cost $500 and have the same performance as a $10 S3/Trident/Generic chipset card. Good luck to all 6 people who plan on buying one.
The operating system is merely a tool that is used to complete your work, not a religion. Creative people see beyond linux vs win.
Someone ripped all 3 movies from laserdisc and has them in VOB files so you can burn them to dvd.
Yeah we'll stop making billions of dollars a day because we don't accept US money anymore. Don't forget US currency is still the most counterfeited.
