    I just put XP on an old laptop to run some specialized automotive software. This svchost bug has been bothering me ever since. If you kill the process it also takes out other services (like wifi).

    What fantasy land do you live in? There is no renegotiating my benefits. You either accept the insurance as offered or decline it. My employer pays a large chunk of the insurance costs. If I chose Obama care the cost would be outrageous for similar benefits.

    If by "rich guy" you mean everyone else with insurance offered by their employer. My same policy went up 44% next year. That is money take directly from my pocket to fund this clusterfuck. I never supported it because I knew the government would totally fuck it up.

    After eBay bought PayPal they stopped letting people use other forms of payment like good old fashioned money orders or Google Checkout. Now eBay fees are ridiculous and if you only sell occasionally PayPal holds onto your money for a month or so. I've been a member for a decade and have perfect feedback but they still hold you money hostage.

    Google I am begging you please offer us an alternative to shitty eBay/PayPal.

About the only big deal has been graphene and I still don't see it being used for anything other than "hey look what it can do!".

    Hate on Intel much? Last I checked their SSDs cost more but were at the top of the reliability list. I dislike SSDs because when they fail they do it catastrophically. I have yet to lose any data from from a failing platter drive. Those will at least give you some warning signs.

    If keyboards did store text "in a kind of flash" it should be trivial to retrieve the contents. The chip or even die (black blob seen on pcbs) needs access to the outside world somehow. It would need a bus of some sort like SPI, JTAG, or even 1Wire. I guess you could get creative and do something with RFID or near field but again any good lab should find that in no time.
